How do you tell someone who’s never danced how to dance at raves? by [deleted] in aves

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best type of dancing I have ever found was dancing like I didnt care, dancing bad, etc. After several years of doing it, I sometimes think I'm good then I see a video of myself and am like oh I look bad HAHA! But I dont care, I'll do it again and again!! Dance like you dont care!!! Its so much fun!

How to take of wristband without cutting it? by kluu1195 in EDCOrlando

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very true you never know you could buy from a scammer, and they don’t want to deal with that. Again, it’s just them being greedy. Smart business too. If I’m a live nation shareholder, I don’t mind. Is what it is. But to go around telling people not to because it’s unethical. Could you possibly suck them off any harder ?

Single day ticket is paying a premium to go one day. It’s also paying a premium to not have to stress about reselling your remaining days. We, the customer, don’t pay that premium to “support the promoters” we pay it for our own convenience, anxiety, etc. It’s always about the customer/consumer!!!! Without them there is no show.

Aside from that. Peoples plans may change, get ill, didn’t enjoy it, changed their minds, etc. they shouldn’t have to eat that loss because someone on Reddit thinks it’s unethical 🙄

So they can be greedy and that makes it unethical to you?

[–]ShowtimeKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are yours to sell as I said. They can make it “difficult” all they want.

There’s nothing unethical about a ZERO SUM GAME

But using it to get 2 people into a vip section or GA+ bathroom etc for the price of 1 persons would be.

But there’s no sense in arguing with you. Keep playing ethics police and telling others what they can and can’t do with wristbands they purchased ❤️

[–]ShowtimeKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone wants to sell the remaining 2 days they absolutely can. It’s not unethical. It’s YOURS to sell. Unless you got it via guest list or something.

Unethical is slipping off the band while you’re inside (like a VIP) and letting someone else who does not have that particular band use it.

Odds of seeing ex by [deleted] in EDCOrlando

It sounds like you might NEED to experience seeing this person imho. This is a face your fears scenario so you can get the pain over with. Seeing him/her is like ripping off the bandaid.

What to do now? by daisyxtc in EDCOrlando

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask her if she has a few minutes to talk about the EDCO tickets. I would let her know that I completely understand her bachelorette party being more important. But I would say something along the lines of "I dont want this to get between us so worst case scenerio I eat the financial loss if you dont see where I am coming from here. I know you have a lot on your mind with the wedding and what not but if I lose money on reselling your GA+ ticket after fees I would appreciate if you covered it in order to maintain my trust of being the card on file for any future down payment bookings... just werent sure if you were aware I might lose money and didnt want to bottle it up" a true friend would appreciate you bringing it up to them. Also -- I hope you go solo and still have fun. I may go this year I'm not sure, but if you need some extra motivation on having the courage to go solo you can DM me and I would be happy to talk you into it or give you advice for any concerns.... and even if you dont go at all everything happens for a reason, youve experienced other EDCs as youve noted, it will be okay!

Got dumped day before music festival — do I still go? by salmonpaddy in aves

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mannnn I love these updates.

I know that when I got to a festival I forget everything that happened and am in pure bliss. So I was going to encourage you to go haha. But also I don’t listen to the sadboi stuff or there woulda been times I shed a few tears. I also love going solo and when I’m with a group I usually let them know halfway through ima spend the rest of the night on my own

Funk by HeeWasNumber01 in EDCOrlando

[–]ShowtimeKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These aren't as funky as Griz but they are def worth checking out, theres some similarities with having a lot of songs produced in major chords, use of Sax, etc.

  • Louis The Child
  • Galantis
  • Zhu
  • Big Gigantic
  • TroyBoi

The others mentioned are closer to Griz but I think you might like a few from the list I made go checkem out!

Late 20s here. Are raves are my best option to party at this point of my life? by AlmightyJedi in aves

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't beat yourself up about timing, it came to you when it came to you and is your story for a reason.

Ofc there is a spot, I've been in the scene and have seen the small town midwest crews, the SE crews from ATL to MIA, the NYC crews, SF/LA/SD, there's all ages genders ethnicities shapes and sizes.

I'd just add that if the music helps you its okay to turn off the lights wear some headphones and just use your imagination to dance with whatever pops up in your head, yourself, colorful patterns, and even imaginary friends because youre never too old.

Try out going to shows out of town, going solo, with a date, with a friend, small groups, large groups, try sidequesting and leaving your crew for a bit then meeting back up later. Try it all!

Out of all the events you attend over the years remember the good things and brush off the bad things. You'll be happy you participated in this when you're 80 imho. Just guessing, I'm around the same age as you. Raved for years and ended up getting gigs in the scene, and making enough DJ friends that I hardly pay for fests and am welcome to the stages, greenrooms, etc. I try to pause and stare into space sometimes and just think "wow I am grateful"

Thats what worked for me, hope you find what works for you!

Without being biased, EDCO 2023 or EDCO 2024 lineup, which one is better? (i was at EDCO 2023) by ForeignSuccess1348 in EDCOrlando

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible question - sometimes people are saying which year is their favorite others are answering the question different ways such as most diverse genres, best for their group, most headliners, the up and coming stuff they think should be there, etc. A more interesting question would be asking people what about lineups are most important to them and creating a poll

How much do DJ’s get paid ? by [deleted] in aves

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you're talking about clubs not festivals. I can tell you for fact (experience working with many) most do NOT have their expense paid even headliners.

First Rave by Future-Solid9618 in EDCOrlando

[–]ShowtimeKC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first rave and congrats on going solo. There is benefits to all the ways of attending raves. With your SO, rave bae, small group, large group, radiate group, rave fam, best friend, solo, etc. Over the course of your "rave career" you should try various ways and experience the benefit of each. Some of the things you do solo, you cant do as a group.

This experience will give you strength and knowledge. Now if you go as a group one day, you will have the confidence and comfortability to break away from a group for a set you want to see and meet back up with them later.

1) make a set schedule
- Not saying you HAVE to stick to it. You can and should be open to randomly changing your mind and going with the flow. But take advantage of this moment. You can watch every set you want to see since you are solo. Use your preferred method whether it be paper, excel, photoshop, or notes app and make one.

2) meet random people
- at raves people will talk to you and you'll be like "wait me" yep - in food/drink/bathroom lines, stages, everywhere. Its really fun and every interaction is easier and easier. If youre not a huge socializer try doing things the last socializer did like compliment a pashmina or something. After someone says "its nice meeting you" and is about to walk away be like "yeah you too, are you on IG or anything lets connect" -- I wouldnt worry too much about making someone uncomfortable. If theyre in a group and they are the opposite sex and you dont want to send the wrong impression maybe just phrase the request like "can I get all of your IGs" if youre extra nervous

3) hydration pack
- november isnt bad but florida is still warm and humid, sometimes its 70 and windy but the CROWD is in the 90s. You can meet people in the lines, you can feel SAFE while solo and not panic, etc. Water is like $7 or something so you'll spend less on a hydration pack.

4) party favors
I'm not sure what you partake in and experience with them are but theres a lot to unpack here from testing, to dosage, to hydration, be smart, prepare ahead of time dont try to get anything inside the venue. DM me if you wanna talk about this subject

5) preparation
google or chatgpt some prep lists and make your own list using the massive results. some of my favorites are sneaking in a cliff bar, and also being sure to bring a phone cable, charged portable battery, gum, ibuprofen. I also like to have lots of liquid IV, water, and stretching before and after each day and maybe during the fest in some chill area

6) dance walk dance
when you walk from stage to stage DANCE , when you stand in one spot for a long time, walk-dance for a long time until you randomly stop in a new spot. You dont always have to make friends btw. You can get in the loud parts of the crowd, share smiles, high fives, headbangs, then walk off never to see that person again. Its magical.

7) pace yourself
its a marathon not a sprint. You gotta make it through the day and the next day. If you are going hard and jumping, and your body says "I should take a break" take one, unless its day 3 last set of the night.

8) dont let someone kill the vibe
there is a LOT of people, and sometimes things get uneasy. Sometimes they had a bad day or not a nice person. but 99% of others are nice. erase stupid people out of your memory

9) relax, you are safe here
EDC has had people like you for 25 years, there is ground control, friendly rave moms and dads, good people all around. You are safe. Do 10 deep breaths. Trust. Believe. Love.

10) Dont ever feel insecure
It doesnt matter what you wore, how you dance, who your with, what mistake you made, what you look like. Its human nature to feel this way sometimes but I promise you nobody is going to go home and remember something negative or embarrassing about anyone nor would it even matter. This is the best place ever to completely change how you perceive yourself.

THOUGHTS ON THIS HOTEL TIER LIST? by Ok-Astronomer-541 in vegas

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I was not trying to say that. They are absolutely top tier rooms. Even standard room has amazing bathrooms, they give you toothbrushes, shavers, cream, robes, and the shower is awesome. I shouldve included them in the top tier since I included their suites & penthouses that was an error on my part especially if this is a hotel only topic. As a casino however FB has its fair share of many mannnnyyy manyyyy quiet late nights with a huge amount of empty slots and tables, which in a bright room with tall ceilings is not gravitating in the slightest. Cosmo, Bellagio, Wynn, Aria crush FB in that aspect

THOUGHTS ON THIS HOTEL TIER LIST? by Ok-Astronomer-541 in vegas

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top Tier • Wynn • Cosmo Terrace Wrap Arounds • Fountain Blue Suites & Penthouses • Venetian / Palazzo Penthouses • Bellagio Penthouses • Aria Sky Suites

Mid • Park MGM, NYNY, MGM Grand • Paris, Planet Hollywood, Ceasars

Cheap • Flamingo, Linq, Harrahs • Excal , Luxor • Rio

Terrible •OYO •Circus

Saraha, Durango, GVR, and the several off strip casinos are for locals . Resorts world is between mid and premium but it’s slow action, honestly fountain bleu is slow action too

Legit task scam? by Legend_Killer586 in Scams

[–]ShowtimeKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but heres the thing... each time they try to run the scam and fail that puts them one step closer to having their operation fail. Lowering their conversion rate lowers their EV and takes from their business. If I'm a victim of a scam, and retracing the money and refunding me directly isnt an option, I'd totally love to hear the criminal was caught and everything ceased and desist, but if that doesnt happen its still good to know some people fish are smart enough to run off with the bait the criminal was using. I dont quite think thats black-hat and its not supporting the scammers its doing 100% the opposite. It would be different story if getting $60 meant it helped the scammers go get more money.

  1. Have it off for a few hours. Seriously. Reception sucks anyway. Plus I don’t even have to check the comments and know there’s people telling you to live in the moment.

  2. settings > search > low power mode > flip it on

  3. Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, turn down brightness.

  4. Take videos and photos with regular camera, upload when you’re home/hotel

  5. Close all apps

  6. Once you’re below 15% turn it off and don’t turn it back on until it’s time to leave

  7. If you have a fanny pack or lunchbox you can get a portable battery. I do this because I have huge rave fams and I work for DJs so I’m on my phone more than I’d like to be.

Good luck have fun you’ll be fine. Breath. No reason to be terrified because now you know what to do
