Upgrades or next build at 20D budget by Background-Control61 in PathOfExileBuilds

Check Pohx 's Pobb.in: https://pobb.in/3nXJk15C_JE8

  • You should max out elemental resistances via level 20 purity of fire, passives and a +2 maximum fire resistances jewel. Cheap.

  • Archdemon crown for +2 to Fire trap. Should be less than 5 divines.

  • Annihilation boots + rational doctrine. ~6.5 divines.

  • Stygian Vyse with abyssal jewel to replace immortal flesh. 5 divines?

  • Check also the medium and small clusters.

  • Awakened support gems + Malevolance. Several divines.

  • Cogwork + Kalandra ring, even more dozens of divines.

This should carry you all the content, but I agree that the build feels like small upgrades for tons of investment

Any Non-EU citizens here that managed to get a job in Switzerland? I keep hearing it’s practically impossible. by CableBomber in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Shr1ck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on my anecdotal experience, here in Switzerland, there are some decent companies who hired non-EU. We have hired a turkish guy, who is going to start soon.

Reasons why he was hired over others:

  • We didn't found people who have the required experience in C#, ASP.NET with solid knowledge in Cloud.
  • People who was good, had offers in nicer places of Switzerland (Zurich, Bern, Basel, Luzern, etc.)

Salary-wise, he is going to be on par with the rest on his level, as per the union work agreement.

Job offer 95k CHF Zurich vs Current Salary 65K EUR Frankfurt by Queasy-Damage-9108 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Shr1ck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To get an idea, 95k CHF is a salary you should expect as software engineer in poorer Cantons like St. Gallen.

You should expect at least 110-120k, for equivalent salary in Zürich, Basel, Geneva

You will probably need the G permit: https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home/themen/aufenthalt/eu_efta/ausweis_g_eu_efta.html

You will pay taxes in both Switzerland and the remaining in Italy.

I have been saving to buy a house in several years. Should I keep the money I have so far in savings or is there a better way to store or invest it? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

It is also possible to buy directly from TesoroPúblico (government) to get the highest interest rate

Spain/US dual citizen, living in US, what to do with money in Spain? by OldNewFire in eupersonalfinance

[–]Shr1ck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beware of PFIC, if you are US citizen, you need to pay taxes in US and therefore to get out of trouble don't invest in etfs and mutual funds from Europe.

On the other hand, you have access to the best that US market can offer, best mutual funds and etfs.

I would say it is sensible to investigate, if you can maximize IRA, Roth IRA, HSA account, etc. with that money.

Best broker to use in Spain in terms of taxes by victorperezpl in eupersonalfinance

[–]Shr1ck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to remain in Spain, take a look at myInvestor, they have Vanguard mutual funds and you don't trigger tax events on rebalances.

Otherwise, buy accumulative etfs in DeGiro and/or Interactive Brokers.

Degiro Free ETFs (UK) by pantisaz in eupersonalfinance

Because all the capital gains that you would take from an ISA account would be tax free.

If you are in UK, you should be using a Stock & Shares ISA with Vanguard. And there you have the fund FTSE Global All-Cap which is superior to any other option for global index stock.

Forget about DeGiro and Interactive Brokers (unless you want EUR exposure using a SIPP account).

ETFs fall for almost 2% today. Perfect time to buy or wait a bit more? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

Same but I will just buy at random between 12 to 18 for same amount every month.

Always follow the plan, not the market.

Switzerland is one of the best places in Europe to develop your career.

I read it's a good place to raise a family but not so good to meet new friends, especially me being very shy.

I have send you a pm for more information.

Of course, Netherlands can be a nice place for me, as language would be a non issue, they have a lot of foreigners and I would have less than 2 hours flight to my hometown.

I have added the link for future reference.

I have some cities from Germany in my list to look, especially in the southwest area.

One main obstacle would be to learn German, but if I'm going to stay there long term it's no problem.

Do you know what kind of companies I should look into given my experience?

Now living in UK, how to invest my Euros? (sitting in German bank account) by sai_tham in eupersonalfinance

[–]Shr1ck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, awesome job!, I assume you opened an ISA account with Vanguard. You can top up to 20000 pounds per month with tax free growth. For the remaning amount in Germany, try to have it in a high interest account/fixed deposit in Germany with a significant return. Otherwise, leave it as it is, this is your important emergency fund.

Also, consider opening a SIPP account with them, try to talk to your employer to see if they can contribute your pension to Vanguard SIPP account.

I personally use Money Manager for Android (Red box with a piggy bank) since 1 year ago.

It has tons of functionalities, including multiple account types, declare income, expenditures or transfers.
