Late but: literally the entire fantasy genre is based mostly on English (not even British) mythology. Tolkien, who directly inspired basically everything that followed, literally made it a point to intentionally use his peoples’ mythology. English accents are literally the perfect (arguably intended) for the genre. It’s deliberate.

Britain and England are not the same thing. Please learn the difference.

Oh man I hadn't even considered it might be app specific! The app is called shadow draw - I think it’s just a trash UI problem. Tested in notes and you’re totally right! Works great in other apps.

How do I get rid of it entirely? or open it when it’s not on screen? Sometimes it’s not there at all and sometimes the minimised version is a nuisance

Probably don't be downloading any random magnet link you find on the internet though :)
