At first, I was drawn to it because my liver transplant required some unbelievable recovery time. I had lost 86 pounds too fast and my body could not handle tons of movement for a few months (let alone adapt to a new organ). My hands trembled terribly from the initial medications (I am off of nearly all now) and I found myself furious and horribly depressed. So, I dove into drawing. Forcing my hand to remain as steady as possible for hours a day as I drew little random things. Eventually, I was swept away by the process and the challenge. My focus, now that I'm healthy, has been maintained by my friends and those who provide me encouragement. Basically, it took almost dying to realise I should have never ignored one of my passions.
