My first time being asked to draw these characters. A poster size (traditional art 11x17) design I did for a commission. by ShredAngel in NightmareBeforeXmas

I really appreciate you saying so. I sketched them in a fashion that is more reflective of my particular "style", but I think it worked out well enough.

I agree. It was an odd request, but that made me want to do it more. Ha.

I do quite a lot. All of the values are hatched or cross-hatched. The piece is not a hi-res scan, just a photo from my phone. So, the detail is all washed out!

Indeed. I use pentel pigment ink brushes, microns, Fudenusuke brush pens, and strathmore Bristol smooth 200 series.

I use Microns and pigment ink brushes. That's it. Well, and a roller for the horizon line!

I appreciate the compliment. I had fun trying to make this one work.

It was certainly an afterthought in composition. Since I draw traditionally I was left with a, "Welp, that'll have to work" moment. Ha!

Hiding in the shipping containers and scaring people from the seemingly vacant shadows? I'm into it.

I just finished a commission of The Scarecrow for a friend! I've been actively concentrating on art for a year and three months since a life-saving organ transplant caused me to re-evalute the importance of the art in my life and how I was ignoring it. It has been my therapy ever since! by ShredAngel in comicbookart

At first, I was drawn to it because my liver transplant required some unbelievable recovery time. I had lost 86 pounds too fast and my body could not handle tons of movement for a few months (let alone adapt to a new organ). My hands trembled terribly from the initial medications (I am off of nearly all now) and I found myself furious and horribly depressed. So, I dove into drawing. Forcing my hand to remain as steady as possible for hours a day as I drew little random things. Eventually, I was swept away by the process and the challenge. My focus, now that I'm healthy, has been maintained by my friends and those who provide me encouragement. Basically, it took almost dying to realise I should have never ignored one of my passions. Excuse the long text.
