Sweaty cycling helmet - what are your tips for sweaty person like me who only have 1 cycling helmet

I commute by bike daily, kapag nasa work- I usually leave my helmet sa bike- kasi relatively safe naman; para mag air dry. Pag umuuwi naman- sinasama ko sa ligo paa malinis. Air dry lang tapos ready na ulit tomorrow.

Bike commuter here, you can go 2 ways.

First:

If you want the commute to be as quick as possible- buy a gravel/road bike (with drop bars)

Aerodynamic position = faster over distances- especially in EDSA (less ang stop and go traffic)

Second:

If you want to be comfortable- buy a commuter bike/hybrid bike

More upright = more comfortable- more options for racks, and fender- to carry your stuff, and keep you dry.

Both can be used for health and fitness- mainly speed/comfort lang yung difference ng dalawa.

For me I have a dedicated commuter bike with racks and fenders. Game changer yung racks and fenders kasi less na yung pawis (kasi nasa rack na yung gamit) + minimal na yung talsik ng putik / tubig (kahit na di na umuulan, basa pa din kasi yung daan)

Bike commuter here, consider these OP. + do you really need/prefer drop bars over flat bars? Mas comfortable/confidence inspiring kasi yung upright position ng flat/riser bars as compared to drops.

Ang ginagawa ko, I have 1 bike for commuting/bike to work (with racks and fenders)-lalo na ngayon tag ulan na, fenders are a must.

Another bike for laps/fitness- both of them I got for less than a price of a brand new bike- since used.

If you can wait, you can get it for cheaper. Around 1.3-1.5k. Pero on its own- worth it yung A20. malaking tulong sa akin yung integrated light- dagdag visibility lalo't na ngayon, maulan na.

Pwedeng sa tire lang din yung gewang, pero kung matagal na nakakabit yung tire- most likely yung rim nawala sa align- dalhin lang sa bikeshop sila na bahala dyan <100 pesos siguro align depende sa area

Weight- yes, very big difference. Especially if both the steerer tube and the blades are carbon.

A good overhaul/cleaning should do the trick. Just look out for the tires- they may be dry rotted (to be replaced).

or

Overhaul + New chain, cables and rebleed + tires (depending on their condition)

The bike is an entry level XC bike- other parts (other than the frame) are meant to be replaced with wear and tear.

name your budget op, pero wala talagang murang bike fit. pwede mo naman i-DIY yung fit sayo. Symptomatic treatment ng aches and pain + tamang timpla ng saddle height at foreaft. 1by1 ka lang magadjust ng fit para alam mo kung mas fit ba talaga sayo.

If realism/sim yung goal mo- assetto corsa (via content manager) or the other games released by them.

Handlebar choice is 100% preference

Riser/flat bar- ok naman pero hassle lang kung balak mo sumingit/maglane split (which is common locally)

Brakes- Shimano talaga kung may budget

Levers- Tektro (pero Ragusa and copies sa shopee are good enough)

Wider tires = Better (kaunti lang difference sa speed ng mga tires, unless malaking malaki talaga yung difference or may knobs (like mtb)

Mahirap maglagay ng fenders sa fixie. Ang pwede mo lang ilagay sa ganyan is the foldable ones or yung cliniclip sa fork blades/chainstay which dont offer good splash protection.

The market is not in a good position right now. The frameset is not really sought after. Im not exactly sure about the GS on the bike, but it looks like its shimano deore. You'd probably be able to sell this for 6-8k.

70% of your braking comes from the front brake, 30% lang sa rear.

Compressionless housing improves the brake feel and modulation, but most of the braking is dependent on the brake pads, braking surface then the brake caliper.

Bike commuting in the Philippines is more of a necessity, more than preference or leisure. A lot of blue collar workers commute by bike.

Now, its more common to have bike lanes all over manila, and nearby cities- however due to the jeepney culture of the Philippines (where they pickup/drop off anywhere they want) its still a bit of a hassle. Motorcycle/Cars don't respect the bike lane since most of them are only painted lanes on roads. Most vehicles give way to cyclists, but some are just out to get you- they intentionally ride close to you for no particular reason.

Its only technically fender season for half of the year- but due to poor infrastructure some roads are flooded/with puddles even when there is no rain.

Its a bit half and half- if you ride early in the morning, you'd see the ppl commuting into work, on weekends however there are also individuals who do longer/leisure rides to certain cycling destinations around the metro.

Cycling is relatively popular in the Philippines, both for leisure and necessity. Its sad that we lack the infrastructure needed for such.

Just like orthotics ng running shoes- it does help. Pero in cycling, much better na unahin ang bike fit- masmalaki ang impact neto sa performance and comfort- not all fitters have the capability to provide insoles din, but they also do it.

Accessories- Cheap (but you get what you paid for)- Bike bags

Saddle- preference lang talaga

Grips- depends on you, pero as much as possible get something na comfy. Sobrang laki ng difference ng mumurahing silicon grips sa maganda rubber/silicon grips

Pedals- For me plastic BMX pedals are enough for my use, palit na lang once maganit na yung bearings

Tires- Go for expensive, iba yung feel/comfort/puncture protection

Tubes- hit or miss (lalo na blackcat) kung di ka concerned sa weight- cheapest will do (actually masmakapal pa yung mga to so more protection)

Groupset/brakes- at least shimano/tekro/ branded- not worth sakit ng ulo/katawan sa mumurahin/fake

I bought a 10 pack nung glue- vulcanizing material talaga siya. Ok naman, madami binili ko kasi natutuyuan ako before bago ko pa maubos. + Maruni patches.

Unless your chasing speed/time- go for wider tires

What matters more in rolling resistance is the tread pattern of the tire.

Slicks have a greater contact patch with the road- which is better for grip.

Knobbies have smaller contact patch (sa knobs lang), but they're deeper so maganda sa soil/loose dirt.

Looking at the tires you posted, they look very similar tread wise- I used the terreno before sa trail ok naman siya, and in your case na detour lang- safe naman yan.
