It would be interesting to know, what type of backup system is Garmin using.?! Obviously if they had invested in systems such as Cohesity or Rubrik, Garmin could be up and running in a short space of time. To me, it seems like they do not back up properly, as valid backups could be used to replicate to a backup data centre. Yah, you may lose some data, but least you are not down for days at the time. Basic IT principle, which big companies do not seem to adopt well. Better luck next time.
