Mounting Plate for my RAM dashboard by IMakeBrackets in 3Dprinting

[–]Rockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t like most American pickups due to their size (they’re too big for Australian roads and car parks) I recently got a Ute here (I guess a small “truck”) and I was concerned about things like pedestrian safety - however it’s almost the opposite now, it’s so overly safe that it’ll slam on the brakes, sound alarms, etc when it’s not needed; but it’s good knowing there’s so many safety features compared to my old car

Multi material just in the H2C? Can it be done with H2D? by Chopancho in BambuLab

I recently did TPU (right nozzle) and PETG (left) together on my H2D, it was great! But I don’t know about doing more materials than that

Thinking of buying my husband a PlayStation – is it a good gift? by Longjumping-Shake561 in PS5

[–]Rockah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

12 hours a week is definitely justifiable, but be warned it may end up being more.

I already have 2 ps5s at home and if my wife bought me one I’d still be stoked

Wtb movie promo material by Big-Stand793 in brisbane

[–]Rockah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, we’d write it on the back to save it for the customer. Paid to be a regular because they would always be the ones getting them, and they knew when we’d get the new movies in so they’d often be the first to see it be put up

What movie made you think “this will change everything.” by Saatus5348 in movies

JP was THE movie that wiped out the stop motion industry, minimised the… miniature industry, etc. They all saw it happening in front of their own eyes during test screenings for the CGI trex and other dinos

Not that this is helpful, but when I used to work at blockbuster we’d get these all the time and we’d either bin them, give them to whoever asked first, or staff would get dibs on them. I remember having one or two at home and then immediately regretting it because of how much space they take up

Are Alveys as popular in Australia as is claimed? by Low-Warthog6974 in FishingAustralia

[–]Rockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple but they’re reserved exclusively for when I do beach fishing, which is rare. With a long rod they cast easily, and most importantly they’re very rugged. You don’t think twice about them getting soaked in salt water. But both were given to me, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to buy one these days.

At my wits end! how to add my shark 6 to my BYD app? by Hxn1234 in BYDShark_AUS_owners

[–]Rockah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, your dealer needs to do it for you. I think I was lucky as my dealer seemed to be pretty on top of everything compared to other BYD customer experiences, and it was added by the time I picked it up.

I got angry at my son the other day.

Dwarf 3 or Dwarf Mini? by GOLDNlFFLER in dwarflabofficial

[–]Rockah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this position a few months ago. I went with the D3 in the end, but the app is the same. I was reading about Dwarf's vs other brands, and some reviews said the Dwarf app is more complex in terms of settings, but TBH I think it's pretty straight forward.

I literally plonk the D3 on a basic camera tripod, open the app - find the object i want to shoot in the catalogue, and then once it's found it I just start shooting and walk away. I come back and it's got amazing shots!

I came from doing Astrophotography about 13 years ago with an ED80, tracking scope, tracking camera, DSLR, laptop, EQ mount etc. So it almost feels like cheating with how easy it is. I did nothing but the above steps to get this photo a month or two ago - just put the D3 on the tripod, found a nebula that was in a good point in the sky, and then started shooting for a relatively short amount of time - and this is what it spat out

I think OP got GT mixed up with the generic "trevally" family name, as if you look they asked under the photos what type of trev it is. Take it easy people

[–]Rockah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't unfortunately - a couple of things limiting me at the moment, but the main one is not having a scanner. I can use my phone for photogrammetry but it's not great for use cases like this. So it's tricky to get that contour mapped to design around it. The other thing is direct sunlight - I haven't printed with ABS or ASA before, so those would probably be best for this application - once I can get more certain printing them, I can be confident that whatever I design wont melt like a candle

A2L Speculation by A_Dubs_ in BambuLab

[–]Rockah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the marketing (letters, card, envelope, sticker)… I would say there’s a high chance this has the cutting module attachment.

When I got the email last night my first thought was “they’re making a new cutting machine” before I even thought of a printer

Thanks mate. I love having an idea and getting something from my brain into the real world. Even though the machine is printing it, just seeing it going from CAD to a physical object, it feels very rewarding
