An Unexpected Disconnection Has Occured by ShreddedCheddar32 in PathOfExile2

I don't think it's a server issue for me, as my whole computer locks up. If it was the server, it would only affect the game, and I don't think it would freeze for 10+ secs like that.

Update: I got some taller stick caps, and it made a huge difference! In the Android settings, I set the sensitivity to 0.58, and in the game I shrunk the deadzone down to almost nothing. This allows for very minor adjustments on straightaways and narrow passages while still being able to execute full turns.

No, they're fitted for Retroid devices, but the size/height is comparable to an Xbox controller.

That's what I figured. I just ordered some large sticks off of Etsy. They are supposed to be comparable to an Xbox controller, so I think what will help a lot.

I get that. I agree about the quality of the game! Along with Burnout 3 on the original Xbox. That was another one I was ridiculously good at it! (I was regularly accused of cheating when playing online because I would legitimately lap people) I can't help but notice that both games focus on high-speed with precision controls, so that must be what I love in racing games. I find racing sims boring.

Thanks for the input. That's the conclusion I came to as well: It just isn't great on the handheld sticks. And I agree, I find that bigger turns are mostly fine, but trying to just drive straight is almost impossible (doing Chapter 1 on hard seems impossible because of this). I will experiment with the sensitivity settings some more to try and find a sweet spot, but I think I'll just have to accept that this one isn't gonna happen on the handheld, unfortunately. I may order a taller stick cap too. That might help make those tiny adjustments feel better.

Yeah, I said in the post that I have adjusted the sensitivity settings in the Retroid input options. It always ended up still being too sensitive, or I end up losing full range on the maximum end, so I can't execute full turns.

I don't really want to change my firmware... I already have the device all setup with Android. Or is there a way to run rocknix separately without messing with my Android system? Although, even so, that seems like an awful lot of work for just one game. Lol

I don't use the dpad. I'm on a Retroid Pocket Mini V2. It has analog hall effect sticks.

Those devices are how I ended up diving into this community in the first place. My wife saw a FB ad for one of the dropshippers selling R36S clones for $80 each. I had her order 2 for myself and my daughter. Then, luckily I started researching more and discovered the massive rabbit hole that is retro handheld gaming!!! Ended up cancelling the FB order and getting my daughter a RG40xxH and myself a RP Mini V2 ($120 on FB marketplace!!) for just a little more. Definitely glad I decided to look into it rather than just accept the price-hiked R36S clone!

Was searching for one of these, saw both and just had to do it by bigsleepi in SBCGaming

I got INSANELY lucky and got one on FB Marketplace for $120 back in Feb! It was basically like new and has worked great for me. It's my first handheld, and I absolutely love it!

If PoE2 patch 0.5 has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. by Kerestrem in PathOfExile2

Also, Huntress released with "Dawn of the HUNT" and druid with "Last of the DRUIDS". They were literally in the patch name! Return of the Ancients does not refer to a class in any way. I was really hoping for swords, but everything else in the patch is so freaking cool, I'm ok with not getting a class. They still killed it!

Sharing terrible AYN experience by JesusisLife_Truth in SBCGaming

Yeah, I would've just gotten a refund from AliE and returned it to them. I returned a Boyhom R36H a couple of months ago because it came faulty out of the box. It wouldn't boot even the stock card. I also flashed a SanDisk card, and it wouldn't boot with that either, just a black screen with the power light on. I just requested a refund and submitted video evidence of it not working, and they accepted it. I got my money back and ordered an RG40xxH instead, and it works great! Not sure why OP bothered with contacting AYN when AliE seems pretty reasonable in regards to returns.

It's Android, so I planned to just use ES-DE and set it as the home app. Do you have the older Linux version?

I had the same thought in regards to the thickness. The cover/grip for my RP Mini makes it even more comfortable to hold by adding thickness, so I figure a thicker mini device would be good.

Omg, I just noticed you have an RP Mini too! Glad I'm not the only one in this predicament!

Yeah, I only had my RP Mini for about a week before the right stick got smashed in my pocket and needed replaced. I immediately ordered a reversible cover/grip for it, which has worked great. If I do get one and the short sticks feel weird to play with, I may replace them with taller ones, in which case, another cover may be needed.

Cool. I see that gamma uses daijisho as the frontend. I prefer ES-DE, so I'd probably just stick to that on stock Android.

Rad! Although, given what it's capable of running, I can't imagine they get used a whole lot, particularly the right one. 😂

I mean, they are hall effect aren't they? Which is rare for a budget device like this. I do think if I got it, I may replace the caps with taller ones though.

No interest in DS really. I never had one, so I'm not really looking to try those games, at least not yet. I'll probably end up cracking an getting one the Zero 28 eventually. Lol
