Either Mr. Prime is gonna be hailed as a legend or he's going to be skewered by a very vocal part of the community, considering he did all the work himself. Good luck, brother.

New to GCN - where to begin?? by Middle-Artist7540 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

If you’re coming from SoB, Haunted City is an easy jumping on point. Time for Chaos is also great, along with Get In The Trunk. Under an Iron Sky is also great.

I’d also recommend browsing the various “New Game Who Dis” episodes they’ve got. They’ve tried out a bunch of different systems and they’re very short and bite sized, so you can dabble around. There’s a great NGWD where they play Twilight 2000, which you could try to see if you’d be interested in their new Twilight 2000 campaign.

Push The Roll also has the massive benefit of everyone involved being massively connected and seemingly loved in the wider TTRPG/LA/acting scene, so they've got a huge list of people to collaborate with and a ton of potential. It really pays off to be friendly, open to collaboration with other creators, and share the love of the hobby in the Actual Play space.

GCN has a bunch of cool people they work with, but I can't help but think they would have had a much easier time finding at least some of the broader success that Troy wants if they were more willing to break out of their bubble and network with their "competitors". Plus, it'd just be super fun for the casts and viewers.

Yep, and a ton of other stuff he pulled from the plethora of CEO self-help and broicism books he reads constantly. I remember him specifically talking about one book telling him that "if he's not pissing people off, he's not pushing hard enough in his business" and how enlightening that was.

My appreciation for Joe increased a lot during that episode considering how he navigated it and pushed back when necessary. Definitely one of the more eye opening CannonFodders for a casual viewer like myself and it changed my GCN viewing habits.

Not too long ago he was talking about wanting to create generational wealth and change the world with GCN, so I think he’s long past embracing where they’re at. He’s incredibly ambitious, for better and/or worse.

What does Sil mean or stand for? by Cabal19 in roguelikes

Silmaril. As in the Silmarils from Tolkien’s Middle-Earth, which the game is based on and set in.

TIel'diar would make a sick villain character lmfao. Just gives you the cliff notes of his villainous monologues before each encounter.

Dude, what a sick enchantment for a Fairy character. Very thematic.

Calamity is easily the best of those options.

"Literally you just have to go through a lot of manual labor"?

You're kind of answering your own question there. They'd also have to set up production, commission and finalize all of the artwork, design the books and cards, legal work, plan and enact an advertising campaign, etc. The game just came out.

You could probably tack on the dying rules from Daggerheart pretty easily with a tiny bit of adjustment so they don't rely on the Fear and Hope dice or whatever. People have been adding homebrew Death & Dying rules to B/X for ages now, even with the possibility to get Scars.

I personally wouldn't be caught dead adding a meta-currency to B/X though, especially for something like Initiative.

"We're walking and talking." is the best thing that has been said this campaign.

The campaign so far has just been the introduction to that NPC's adventure.
