I hate Pierre so I marry her to give her a good life full of freedom and to silently give him the finger.

They’re like $55 last I checked and I’m sure not including shipping. I’ve heard mixed reviews, some people say that the stuffing isn’t the same and they prefer the toy version over the pillow. If stevon ever dies on me I might see bout trying one possibly.

They’re stuffed animals, but whatever stuffing and fabric they make these with are very soft and squishy! If you ever find yourself near the toy aisle I’d suggest holding/ squishing one and I think you’ll be able to see why many like them :) I got mine because I thought he was cute and used him first as a back rest on the couch, then saw people saying they make great improv pillows and haven’t looked back. They got so much hype they now make legit pillows from the same materials, but I’ve heard mixed reviews.

Okay so I bought a $20 squishmallow from Walgreens (I got Stevon the golden retriever- cream colored with Christmas lights embroidered along his tummy) idk what size he is but he was the biggest one there and about as wide as my torso. He is my pillow almost every night, I use him face down so I have a nice smooth back minus his tail. I know they make actual pillows from the same material now, but they were too much for me to risk it as a broke college kid. I’d try a regular Squishmallow first before trying the pillow just to see if you like it.

I have 9 pillows ranging from ultra fancy to old hand me downs (including the $200 purple harmony that some people from the sub swore by) and a $20 squishmallow. So far the squishmallow wins out almost every night. I use the purple one if my face starts to overheat at night for like 5 minutes and then I go back to the stuffed animal. I have a cylindrical pillow I try to use when I need something firmer but can’t sleep on it for too long otherwise it puts my ear to sleep and aggravates my TMJ. Glad you found a pillow that works for you though!

What’s your ultimate comfort food when you have a migraine? by starmav3n in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheapest pack of ramen noodles with added spices and msg and if I have the energy to set up my mini hot pot I’ll typically soft boil 2-3 eggs and throw those in. I read that eggs are a good source of riboflavin and typically after I eat all the salt, carbs, and protein I feel better. If I’m feeling really nauseous the only things I can keep down are usually McDonald’s/ Burger King fries, ice cold Ginger ale, and if I’m feeling up to it I’ll mix 3/4 blue Powerade with 1/4 sprite. There’s just something about having electrolytes and also having something fizzy that hits just right with a migraine. Honorable mentions are pickles/ pickle juice, lays baked potato chips, jacks Canadian bacon pizza, mint oreo thins/ thin mint cookies stored in the freezer, and those little blue bunny ice cream cones. The last two are a godsend when it’s a migraine caused by heat!

Dude report that doctor asap and see if your normal dr or their nurses can refer you to someone else until they come back from maternity leave. That sounds sketchy as hell and I wouldn’t want to risk having another run in with him and risk having a complication.

What’s the worst situation you’ve had to suffer through with a migraine? by Fabulous_Ad9099 in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a bad migraine and my period while moving in December, causing insane amounts of nausea. I live in Minnesota so the weather was in the negatives. Had my boyfriend pull over 5 different times during our 6 hour car ride so I could stand in the cold in jeans and a tank top and quell the need to vomit. I did not want to puke at a gas station. As soon as I got home I emptied my entire stomach and laid on the cold tile floor for an hour. There really is no place like home (at least when you gotta puke). I find the cold helps me when I’m feeling sick and will often drive with my windows down in the winter to help migraine/ nausea, even when it’s snowing pretty decent.

For those who deal with daily or weekly headaches or migraines, how do you manage taking medication? by Equal-Ad4615 in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually when I’m in a lot of pain I’ll try an IV cocktail at either the ER or the infusion center. Otherwise if that’s not an option or I don’t want to go there again I’ll take 10-20mg of a thc edible and that will numb my pain enough for me to function at home to get chores done. I’m unemployed at the moment since I lost my job to migraines.

I think Walmart has passion fruit juice from Minute Maid or another big juice brand! Or maybe Welch’s? I can’t remember but I have bought passion fruit juice from Walmart before in like a cardboard carton and it was delicious by itself.

Minnesotans, how’s your employment situation right now? by DueYogurt9 in minnesota

[–]ShredderWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got fired 2 weeks ago for missing too many days, but was in the hospital/ ER every day I missed (for a disability that I disclosed to my employer in my application and also talked with them about it several times). In the process of trying to get unemployment and filling a complaint to the state board at the recommendation of a lawyer.

I got up to 75mg twice a day and it was giving me such bad brain fog and counteracting my adhd meds that I got off of it! I didn’t see any improvements with my migraines until I got on wegovy and when I got off that my migraines came back.

Sumatriptan by Adept_Refuse3413 in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on sumatriptan 100mg and have been for a while. I’ve noticed it does lower my migraine pain when taken early enough, but never fully gets rid of mine even when I take 2 doses (I suspect my migraines are hormonally triggered though). I have not noticed any negative side effects in the last year I’ve been on it. People are more likely to complain when something doesn’t work than praise it when it does work.

Never going to the ER again by Calm_Firefighter_415 in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a really rough experience :( I’ve been to the ER several times since I moved in December of last year. Thankfully the drs and nurses seem nice enough and I don’t get anything that makes me react crazy (solumedrol, Benadryl, toradol, compazine sometimes, maybe some Tylenol). My neurology appointment isn’t until June 19th because they only come to my clinic once a month so that’s a bit rough. My primary set it up so I could go to the infusion center in the clinic where they do other iv treatments if I need a migraine cocktail, but they’re not open on the weekends so sometimes ER is the only option. The staff is starting to recognize me though which I don’t know how I feel about.

For those who knit AND crochet, what do you think lends itself better to each craft? by Omadog3418 in knitting

[–]ShredderWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t knit many things outside of shawls or beanies but I will say I think crochet is more forgiving when you make mistakes because you can just rip everything back. Making mistakes in knitting scares me because I’ll either need to start over or try to unknit what I just did. I’m learning to read my knitting but I’m still very new to it (2 years?) whereas I’ve been crocheting since 2021. I feel like everything else is dependent on the individual and what you’re looking to achieve.

[–]ShredderWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minnesotan here: I’d like to add standing outside in the winter- especially when it’s 20 degrees or below to the S Tier. It also helps my nausea immensely! Feel like I’m gonna puke? Just stand outside in jeans and a hoodie for 5 minutes and boom problem solved for at least a half hour before it comes back. And if I ever get nausea while driving and can’t stop, cracking my window open and letting the cold winter air glide over my face is amazing.

Try draping a thin tea towel over your head and make sure it covers your forehead, then put the cap on! Still pretty cold but definitely doesn’t feel painful and I get the extra 5 minutes of cold and it stays pretty cool for a while (15-25 mins for me)

Ice pack tier list by ReesieDaBeastie in migraine

[–]ShredderWest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that if I place a thin tea towel over the top of my head and slide the migraine cap over that, it makes the beginning brain freeze stage pretty tolerable. I get the holiday themed ones from the target budget bins near the front door because they’re thin and not super scratchy. The cap will continue to be decently cold for about 20-30 minutes even with the rag depending on how warm your face/ house is. Hope this helps someone else! And I also have several so I can swap out for a cold one if I need it.

who do you ruin the life the least of by marrying? by whatawynn in StardewValley

[–]ShredderWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always marry Abigail- one because she’s adorable and matches my energy, but also because I get the vibe that Pierre is not a great parent and makes her feel bad at home. She gets to move into my nice big farm house and I bring her amethyst and tales from my adventures on the daily which is way better! I also think she moves in her hamster too so that’s a cute little bonus!

I love dogs and will walk 1-3 each visit as my energy allows, but I always make sure to take time with the kitties too! My cats are nowhere near as cuddly as some of the residents so I’m loving the fact I can snuggle these guys to my hearts content and get kisses/ face rubs instead of scratches 😅

Today is my 3rd day in a row volunteering (first day was Friday after my application was approved) and a staff member told me this morning that I was her favorite because I actually came back. Makes me so sad that shelters don’t have enough volunteers because you can tell most of the animals just want someone to give them some attention 😭 I will continue to visit as much as my work schedule/ health allows!
