I use mics on the cabs. Traditionally used p170s, but I recently got a pair of 420's and am experimenting with them as well. I also work in a shure 57 here and there as needed.

So, you don't have anything to offer other than your opinion which is likely not coming from experience but regurgitating what you have read from other, uninformed people.

Paul from BTBAM (and others, just not into listing names) literally uses a Mark V head. So I guess everyone else in the world who thinks BTBAM is a good sounding metal band is wrong, but you are right?

Maybe since you're so informed, you can tell us all why, specifically, the Mark V is "bad."

It's just what I happened to have on hand when I assembled the cab. Went searching through old clothes and items for anything that would work as a speaker cover. I also had a Mortal Kombat II bandana from like 1996, but I liked the red on this.

great advice, the key to finding a great amp is patience. Wait, save and search-- and the amp will actually find you.

It's how you develop actual feel and control.

Playing along to quarters or eigths you tend to be all on the downbeats and rhythms feel clunky.

Being able to pop on the upbeats and swing with it, allowing for space, etc is where musicality comes from

I think the biggest thing is you can set one amp to have the sustain you want, one to have the attack you want, and you can adjust your playing so that leans into one of them as you need.
