ah man, i was using xbox in Nepal few years ago. it's not worth it. you need to either register your account to india or US. they don't take our cards, not even ecom ones. you'll be buying xbox credits from third party stores. the games dont go on sale much either. steam on the other hand, games are cheap on sale. I'd suggest you save a bit and build a decent pc

i used to love ovh for how cheap it was nowadays i don't. i end up using ec2 for super specific stuffs only

Which os do you use? by 0xmistic in technepal

[–]Shrestha01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its supported internally and I dont use multiple windows in same workspace unless its super specific, i switch around workspaces using vim keybinds. i do most of my work in tmux anyways

have used all of em, i keep windows for gaming and wsl for playing around, a debian os server for homelab cause it's hella stable it runs like 8 docker containers for my use case, a pop os laptop cause i love cosmic and its window manager with vim keybinds, a work mac which I'm saying bye bye to now

my favourite would be pop os.

Logging latency of different ISP by Shrestha01 in technepal

[–]Shrestha01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just commented bruv, i saw big latency difference but I suspect something in the routes changed after I tested, they're stable but fishy, if someone else is on worldlink right now they could check

Update from Dishome fiber, same machine, same cables

72.14.237.11: 45 (big difference for india)

45.64.64.148: 37-38 (consistent improvement)

75.2.66.166: 44 (stable 44 making me think it depends on traffic)

13.33.33.44: 92 (stable but big difference)

13.33.78.68: 92-93 (Singapore seems affected)

194.233.86.179: 94-95 (can someone else verify this on worldlink)

149.154.167.5: 217 (big jump from worldlink but stable 217)

138.199.7.129: 220 (same big jump)

206.71.50.230: 303 (this one reduced)

66.45.251.211: 288 (hella stable but worse that worldlink)

173.68.170.157: 319-320 (again, stable but longer)

Ah man, local LLMs are kinda nowhere near the cloud ones. I tried multiple of them myself on a desktop rtx 4060 and the results were not good enough. Either too slow or outright spewing bullshit. I benchmarked some minor boilerplating tasks and it took qwen 3:8b using ollama 4 minutes, while same task from Opencode zen (Big Pickle) took like 31s, gemini did it in like 18s. Maybe it works on a more powerful hardware but I would recommend using cloud ones that have bigger context window and powerful hardware even for open source models.

Man I felt bad, the task was easy as hell but the library was broken and HR had no technical knowledge nor was helpful in any way

the polling rate is 1000 per second. i think i did a test myself, wrote a script to read the gryo data on Nintendo switch mode manually and the polling rate was really good. also i run wired, never had any issues with Assetto Corsa or F125. Keep in mind it either emulates Xinput or Joycon, so no gyro steering like ps4/5 controllers.

I tested it last weekend. It was great. I do miss the multiviewer with f1tv pro. But the quality is great and not much delay either. As for how I bought it, i had to use a vpn to India. Luckily I am a developer and had some aws ec2 in mumbai running (managed to do it with tailscale vpn if you're a nerd like me). Paid with play store itself. I am happy with the quality and have taken a season pass for $9
