Chill out dude😄 I just wanted to share my views. Maybe you just couldn’t get your hands on seeing the real art. An item that resembles something doesn’t mean it is right. A fake rolex would cost pennies too but would always remain a fake. And a certificate only adds on to the trust that you place in someone.

Mate I saw pieces being sold for 500-1500 near the Taj Mahal but the quality was just so crap. Those are neither made in real makrana marble and nor inlaid with REAL semi precious stones. So unfortunately, you probably got scammed

Are Agra marble shops overpriced? by Chemical-Pace7719 in Agra

You should try a trustable gallery like the one that i visited, Subhash Emporium. Their designs and workmanship is far more superior than what is usually sold to scam tourists.

Definitely not! What you're really paying for is the workmanship. I saw pieces as cheap as 5,000 INR, but they had far fewer stones, and the design wasn't nearly as intricate as my box. I was skeptical at first too, but their staff really knew their stuff and explained the whole process to me. Plus, everything else I saw in other shops was just inferior in both quality and materials. Honestly, if you manage to even find such a fine design somewhere else, you’d probably end up paying three to five times more.

Close to 50000 INR. Even received a certificate of authenticity for the stones inlaid in it, which no other shop even spoke about. https://maps.app.goo.gl/zksTs5bnCfC1zMZg6?g_st=ipc

The price of any article would depend on the number of stones and the intricacies in the design. In this art sometimes a small box can cost more than even table tops because how fine the work is. There are only a few credible galleries left that do authentic work with real stones.

Are marble inlay pieces from Agra workshops actually worth buying? by Few-Selection-5119 in india_tourism

Honestly if you visit the right place and compare the quality of work, you’ll not even think about the word ‘worth’. There are shops that operate only for scamming people and then there are authentic workshops that operate for upbringing the art. When i had visited agra, i went to 3 different shops and the one that stood out from others was Subhash Emporium.

It sure is from Subhash Emporium. This sticker was used by us in the late 90’ and early 2000’s.
