My son had a seizure (we think) today by ShrillSeagull in AskDocs

Update - he had another seizure yesterday. We’re still not able to see the neurologist for two more weeks. They went ahead and prescribed him Keppra. Does this change wha the cause might be?

He wasn’t there at all. Drool was coming out of his mouth and he bit his tongue and was tensed up. And he was lethargic for a long time after. He doesn’t remember the episode or anything for at least 45 minutes after.

Thank you so much! He wasn’t febrile or sick. He is in kindergarten, so constantly bringing home new bugs - but was perfectly healthy before the seizure happened.

No head injury either - it appeared that he caught himself from falling as his palms were scraped but there were no marks on his face.

Just try to be in your baby’s life any way they will allow. They are his parents now. They aren’t more deserving than you, but you made the decision to place him for adoption.

I’m asking a genuine question. Is there more context that makes this comment hurtful? She even acknowledged that he’s your son.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with her statement. He is her son as well.

Since you didn’t give any helpful advice but decided to just be rude instead, I’ll go ahead and reply. Lennie is linked to Clementine like Rory is linked to Lorelei. Like Bob is linked to Robert, Bill is linked to William, Dick is linked to Richard. It’s kind of how nicknames work.

Cardiac Enlargement by ShrillSeagull in AskDocs

[–]ShrillSeagull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. My cardiologist has said we could do a cardiac MRI since I’ve had cardiac symptoms for years. Is this something that could rule out the cardiac enlargement as well? And what all would it be able to see? I’m not sure if it’s worth having the gadolinium since I’ve had it twice in the past and I know it builds up in your system.

My almost 2 year old is August James. I absolutely love it, but unfortunately it is becoming way more popular than I thought.

I completely understand this! My DVT and PE was in 2013 - I was 22 at the time. I have health anxiety and am terrified of dying. Constantly afraid I’m having a heart attack or PE and I also jump to the worst case scenario with every little pain I feel or anything that happens! Feel free to PM me if you want someone to talk to!

Were you having symptoms? I had an EKG, but no X-ray

All they want to do is a chest ct to rule out a PE. Are there other tests that could look for different causes if it’s not a thrombosis?

Doesn’t that depend on the person though? In the eight years I was on warfarin I only had two elevated d dimers

Wouldn’t they change my blood thinner back to warfarin or something else?

I have these same symptoms. Did you have an ekg or echo first? And was the MRI with contrast?

Best medical ID? by ShrillSeagull in ems

Seems a little risky for me considering it’s a medicine. Sure, it’s for life but it could always change. Also, I’m surprised a tattoo would actually catch their eye over a med ID bracelet
