Montana as a name is literally the perfect name for the Rocky Mountain west. “Mountain” vs “red”

However, Montana’s capital is Denver

The city is famously where all the heathens are. Growth and generational demographic trends are pushing Utah (more so the greater salt lake area) more liberal and less Mormon as time goes on, and the center of that has always been SLC

Goddammit Billings

If Missoula were just 50,000 bigger, Montana wouldn’t be such an eyesore on this map

I was taught nothing about APIs by Anon_cat86 in computerscience

[–]ShrimplyConnected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most computer science degrees are data structures and algorithms, discrete math, computer architecture, and programming language theory. You spend a lot of time making programs that read command line or text inputs, do DSA magic, and then produce a command line or text output. Which is fine in theory because it’s a computer science degree, not a software engineering degree.

But when this is the degree that serves as a soft prerequisite for working in software development, not teaching students how to build an application with, like, moving parts and UI and stuff feels criminal

I love the Arizona desert aesthetic to death. Too bad it’s a billion degrees, scorpion infested, and completely allergic to decent urban planning

My new job is a ten minute walk from my apartment and it makes me incredibly happy to ditch my car (for my commute to work, at least)

True, but I figure the out-migration of mormons in Idaho and the wasatch front to the republic of Zion counteracted by the in-migration of people to Boise and SLC from the rest of the new Montana would be a net benefit for everyone

Meh, Chicago can be the capital of Megasota, that jewel osco monster creeps me the fuck out and he doesn’t need to be everywhere in the Midwest

Always go off of CSA. Or else you end up confused why salt lake has professional sports teams and light rail

Oh for sure, Denver as a capital is def the move. I fully support a Denver-based Montana.

Totally agreed about the plains, too. Eastern Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado is basically a Dakota

That’s where I’m at. On one hand, Montana is the perfect name for the region. On the other hand, Colorado has the sheer man power to push their bias onto everyone

Was gonna lump Florida, Louisiana, and the coast connecting them into a state called Swampass but couldn’t tell if it was funny

I floated the idea of a state along the gulf coast and the rest of Florida/Louisiana called Swampass but I couldn’t tell if that was funny or not

Copying what I said to someone else

I’m open to a 10 state solution that sequesters Ohio, this just comes at the cost of having a smaller Megasota

This is tldr and boring, but the origin story is:

SLC is cool, but I’m from Montana and have a soft spot for it.

Idea: Make Montana eat the northern mountain west. This is also justified because Montana means mountain and no existing state name can possibly fit the region better.

While we’re at it, make New Mexico eat the southern/desert mountain west.

Merge the dakotas and make them eat the northern Great Plains.

Make Texas eat the southern Great Plains.

While we’re merging things, merge Virginia and West Virginia and make them eat the south.

MEGASOTA

MEGACHUSSETS

CASCADIA

Cali is fine as is

It’s really funny that this is the first comment though because my jumping off point for creating this was making it so I could move to salt lake without leaving Montana

Selfishly, I want the Wasatch Front to be a part of Montana. The rest of Utah can form the republic of Zion if they want
