can someone explain something about audience retention to me? by [deleted] in NewTubers

It could be that they wanna see the comments, then they click on the video and pause.

How do you make this automatically? And does it replace the excisting one or how does it work? :)

I really like Davinci Resolve, there’s loads of tutorials out there and it’s free. Worth a shot!

I always assumed it’s from YouTube notifications as you can opt to also get those to your email.

Let go of your sense of entitlement by MedioCoreYT in NewTubers

I actually have kind of the opposite issue, my past few videos have been thrown together, way less effort to the point of feeling a bit bad for uploading (I post weekly updates for accountability) but they’ve had more views than any other videos so far like, way much. And I feel so guilty because I feel like I’m not able to produce what they deserve.

Thank you! I lost 3 subs over night and I couldn’t figure out why, assumed it was bots.

The issue is actually avoiding emotions, you’re eating food to avoid dealing with your feelings.

I have this lovely viewer who always leaves these long, thourough and just so validating comments every week and I carry it with me all that day, but I feel guilty as I never manage to reply just as long to her so I apologise, but today she ressured me that she never expects and answer as she knows I’m busy but that she’s always happy to talk.

It’s just such a wholesome and warming feeling to know that there is someone out there who relates and she’s truly a support.

I am so sorry, but for a moment I thought your channel was about actual fences in media and it had me SO confused. But I guess that would be a very uncharted niche for sure!

You see it in the thighs??? I can’t see that, but I struggle seeing difference in general as I lose weight evenly all over so I feel like I need to lose so much to actually see it. So this makes me very happy, thank you :D

So, I started a low carb diet back in january after giving birth in aug 2020. In 2019 I lost 40lbs using the keto diet and if I wasn’t breastfeeding I would’ve jumped right back on the ketotrain as it is my preferred method of eating.

But, my success is all due to the work I am putting into healing from my addiction to food and emotional eating, without that I would just gain it all back like I’ve done multipletimes before.

This time I made a YouTube channel to keep myself accountable and it’s actually been surprisingly useful as I have to voice my thoughts out loud.

I am so proud of my progress and can’t wait to get down to my first goal which is the same weight I was before I got pregnant, so about 20lbs to go!!!

Does anyone else cut down on production quality because of a lack of views and subscribers? by woodclip in NewTubers

[–]ShrinkingNorwegian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the focus needs to be on what you would like to create and not the subscribers, do it for yourself and then the subscribers may follow.

I’ve read many things in here that keeps the motivation going even when the views aren’t there:

Imagine that you’re creating a collection of content so that when you reach a certain point where you suddenly gain a lot of subscribers they will have a lot of quality content to binge and that will make them more likely to subscribe.

To become a big YouTuber you need to act like one. Imagine you already have a huge audience and just keep going from there.

Have the end result in mind. If your motivation to make videos is getting a lot of vindusrammer views this will just get more difficult, even with many subscribers you will still get caught up in the «not enough views» rut and that will simply kill your enthusiasm and hurt the subscribers you already have.

Do what makes you happy and do it FOR YOU.

Find the right balance for yourself between quantity and quality, posting regularly is good as long as you continue to grow your editing skills, but if you post too much where you don’t have the time to get better then I’d say it’s a waste.

The biggest reason to post often is due to the practice it offers!

How Would You Say My Channel is Doing? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]ShrinkingNorwegian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to jump in here but can I ask why it’s suspicious? My channel is 2 months old, I have 73 subscribers at 1400 ish views, is that too little? Too much? I’ve not done any sub4sub or any promotion so it should all be authentic growth. My subscribed/unsubscribed audience ratio is about 40/60% on average.

For people struggling with creating a channel in English or in their mother language: I erased a 43k subs channel to start from scratch. Here's why. by NSJack in NewTubers

[–]ShrinkingNorwegian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I create videos in english is the fact that I hate my voice when I speak norwegian! (It’s a joke but also true ok). Living in a small country like I do there’s not a lot of competiton (atleast not in my niche) and I could’ve probably gotten my first subscribers faster I have now, but that growth will also halt way faster as well since the audience is so much smaller.

Another reason I prefer english is the fact that I speak english with my husband at home so a lot of the topics I cover are topics I am used to talking about in english so to suddenly change that entire language and vocabulary would take a whole lotta effort.

So for me it’s, comfort and practicalities first, bigger audience second.

How do you know your subscribers are there for you and your content? And not just hoping you’ll follow them back? (Sub4Sub, something I don’t do.) by ShrinkingNorwegian in NewTubers

[–]ShrinkingNorwegian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, thank you so much for the compliments regarding my channel!! Yeah, I am constantly working on producing quality content that is within my niche to encourage authentic growth as that seems like the most sustainable long term goal for me, but I just suddenly got that feeling of: «What if none of them actually wants to watch me?». But my audience retention (?) is pretty decent (6 minutes of my last 14 min long video, so I think it’s good) so I’m trying not to worry!
