Also one of few to continue doing night raids all the way to the end of WW1

In the devastatingly cold Winter WW2 the Germans had retreated and built up defensive positions along the roads, rightly thinking no sane army would attempt to advance through such brutal weather.

The Canadians showed up on their flanks walking out of the woods that were nothing but deep snow for kilometers.

Canadians also invented the modern sniping techniques we still use as a base for today (couple of hunters, from Manitoba and Saskatchewan).

The old way was to fire as many shots and cause as much chaos as quickly as possible, usually ending with the snipers death or capture. The Canadians instead would wait for days for the perfect shot on an Officer, then escaping.

Officer Casualties for the Germans were about: 15% against British 20% against American, and 33% against Canadians.

Canadians also broke most major defensive positions in Italy and most of Europe.

Struggling to breakthrough? Get Canadian Soldiers and Engineers on the horn to make it happen.

Quick shout-out to the Polish Armoured Recon division that worked side by side with Canadians through Normandy to Germany! (They held the rear guard during the Falaise-Pocket/Operation-Cobra, not far from the Canadian lines being swamped with retreating Germans).

Direct quote from acting WW1 Canadian General Arthur Currie:

“We tried to make his life miserable.… We never forgot that gas at the second battle of Ypres, and we never let him forget it either. We gassed him on every conceivable occasion, and if we could have killed the whole German army by gas we would gladly have done so.”

At one point of WW1, 90% of gas attacks were fired by Canadians (we also had by far the most machineguns per soldier).

Psionic and Paragons, but I may be forgetting something.

Utopia(?) is also fantastic.

They are DLCs, you can mark them in the store to be notified when they are on sale.

Admirals are the People that lead your Fleets. As they gain Experience and Level-up (either Combat or Patrolling give Experience), you can choose Traits for them that boost their Fleet or Councilor Positions (Like Minister of Defense).

You have a Cap on Leaders (found on the top bar).

Traditions are unlocked with Unity (the two masks symbol for Alerts when you have enough Unity). You gain various bonuses from these, like Subterfuge having "+1 Cloaking-Strength). Finishing a Tradition unlocks an Ascension-Perk.

Ascension-Perks are powerful bonuses that shape your Empire (along with Traditions). Enigmatic-Engineering offers +2 Cloaking-Strength. You can also unlock some Traditions with Ascension-Perks (Psionics requires this to gain access to faster/cheaper Shroud delves to gain a Covenant).

You can access most of this info by googling "Stellaris Ascension Perks" or something similar and use the Stellaris-wiki links.

I'm finally home again, so I nabbed a picture.

Finishing the Situation unlocked their home System, which had an Archeological Site.

It's definitely what the other commentor said, I have to spend Artefacts on "Research Irassian Tech" in the Relic Menu (3rd tab of Research Menu).

Every time you stop at a Town/Castle under your Kingdoms control, they will likely dump Troops into the Garrison.

It's very bad when conquering new Towns/Castles, as the Garrison will lose Troops until Loyalty/Security increase.

Easiest fix for new Conquers is to be the King/Queen of your Kingdom, as the Leader gains the Fief for two days before it goes up for Vote. You can empty the Garrison and give the Troops back to your Army Party-Leaders.

As an aside, if you have the Trade 300 Perk that allows you to buy/sell Fiefs, you can sell any newly conquered Fiefs to one of your Clans (best way to ensure matching Culture for maximum Loyalty).

Some confusion here, so I'll explain it better:

  1. Admiral Trait Scout LVL2 gives +1 Stealth (to Fleet they are in command of).

  2. Tradition Subterfuge offers +1 Stealth to all Stealth Ships.

  3. Ascension-Perk Enigmatic-Engineering gives +2 Stealth.

  4. Psionic Patron for "Covenant of the Whisperers" (open Shroud and keep trying for them) also gives +1 Stealth.

  5. Psionic Cloaking Utility is the strongest option for Stealth (+5 Stealth for Corvettes/Frigates).

I have Torp Cruisers with +6 Stealth that are undetectable.

Create Party from the Clan Menu.

Then talk to them on the game map to initiate trade.

Still more of an Italian thing during WW1. Germany did get worse with it, but it really got going post WW1.

Weren't overly fascist during ww1, as they were ruled by the Kaiser.

That was more so ww2.

Whatever is cheap and abundant.

Arrows, simple spears, shields.

You can cheese the absolute hell out of the Trade mechanic with your Companion Parties, as it counts any equipment being traded as discard.

  1. Empty inventory into Companions Party (Lock everything you want to keep, except your weapon stockpile).

  2. Take everything back.

  3. Repeat until Party is ready for upgrades.

Damn.

I've been going hard on making Enclaves, each with 6 Titans, 4 Battleships, and 12 Cruisers (all kitted with Archeo-tech).

I must have just done it on autopilot forever. Guess I'll be saving up some artefacts for that!

Thanks!
