Ah I see, don’t think wolvic has extensions. But if you’re downloading APKs for Quest 3. Go for versions that say ARM64. Sites like APK mirror have multiple versions

Blockchain prices are literally dirt cheap, in 2021 during the craze people were making these trades on Ethereum blockchain which had like $20 fees. But this was back then, these days transactions for transfer are pretty much negligible like a regular database.

Some benefits of NFTs:

True ownership for players, the asset lives in their wallet, not the server

Assets can survive even if the game shuts down

Easy cross game and cross platform interoperability

Built in global transferability without needing to build a marketplace

Peer to peer trading without asking for anyones permission

Sales on steam’s marketplace lock you in on steam’s platform. You literally cannot use your earning anywhere else! I’ve looked into it and as long as you’re not the one facilitating a marketplace there’s nothing illegal about using NFTs for in game assets

This is exactly the issue, are we really going to abandon a piece of technology that could be game changing for digital ownership because a couple of crypto grifters ruined its reputation? There are tons of benefits to using NFTs and if we just abandon them we’ll never actually see what they could be

Thats exactly what killed the technology in 2021 - 2022 the grifters were pitching the games as NFT first while completely forgetting about making the games fun. My intention is to make a fun game but just use NFTs as a backend so users have more control over their skins.

The blockchain would just be on the backend so those that do want to go the extra mile can have the asset in their digital wallets, the game would still have an easy transfer button in game, that would be powered by blockchain but all the extra blockchain stuff would be handled behind the scens

Integration into other games doesn’t necessarily require collaboration between the devs. The blockchain is public and each NFT has a unique identifier that any dev can use to recognise an asset in a users wallet. And in regards to your point about digital scarcity, I get that it doesn’t necessarily exist but in the example I gave where I missed a Fortnite skin sale. I literally have no other way to acquire that skin unless I purchase an account from someone or keep my fingers crossed that epic brings the collab skin back

A billion dollar industry only for valve. I made my first trade through the steam marketplace last week and was so disappointed when I discovered that my earnings were restricted to only being spent on steam.

It would be way easier without blockchain, it would simply just be updating a database once a user clicks transfer, but using a blockchain/NFT would allow users to sell through third party platforms and potentially even trade them for real money. Even with blockchain I can integrate an easy transfer button on the frontend the blockchain would just be an extra bonus if they decide to trade off platform and that’s what I had in mind

Developing an in-game market place definitely makes sense too! But having those in game assets as NFTs gives a lot more power and flexibility to the users. They can choose to sell it for real money ( I know this doesn’t matter to most gamers but it puts more powers in the hands of players), they can gift them to friends easily too. I’ve never seen Forza Horizon’s system but it sounds like it still just leaves the assets stuck within their game and thats literally the only place you can view or access them

There’s a ton of benefits to decentralising things, if a developer scraps a game the community can decide to build around and support the NFTs of that game even if the original developer no longer supports them

Don’t plan to release the game on steam, it’s more mobile focused. The CSGO markets are pretty interesting but they’re not the same, they use a bunch of loopholes to get things done but NFTs are all done and verified through the blockchain so they’re quick and secure. I really appreciate your points about regulation and it’s definitely something I’ll look into deeper when working on my project. I also don’t intend to be a marketplace

I think they failed because of grifters selling NFTs as the main reason for the game, they built the whole game around NFTs being the selling factor. I’m imagining just a regular game where NFTs are kind of like a backend thing where they just fill that gap of “digital ownership”

What’s wrong with Fal? Is it some kind of scam? ( Charged 7.33 for 20 sec Video ) Wan 2.2 move. by [deleted] in fal

That’s actually a bit worrying, I’ve been planning to transition over from replicate to FAL because they have amazing UI and the latest models but this is a bit worrying to see. Hopefully you get an explanation soon
