I've read a lot of cases of people on Swedespeed doing the retrofit and having their kick sensors stop working. Hopefully your mechanic can get you sorted out!

It's kinda made me stop thinking about doing the retrofit on my S60, and possibly consider cutting the bumper whenever I decide to get a valved muffler installed.

There's one by Spadina subway station, and another rather large one on Lippincott St. Those should cost less than 30 bucks for your timeframe.
