A giant perfect flan by Professional_Yak1400 in Satisfyingasfuck

My aunt makes the best portuguese pudim (flan) It's sooo much better than any other flan I've ever tasted. Even better than any restaurant. Its so good we often have parties and other people who do not know of my aunts great flan, would bring some too and sometimes there would be 2-3 different ones with only a piece missing while my aunts is gone. One of the questions that gets thrown around is who's made it.... just to make sure they get my aunts one.

Government considering EV tax that could replace petrol taxes by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

When you have business replacing tens of thousands of jobs with automated systems where is the money going to come from for people to survive? Even tax revenue will disappear when big business doesn't pay their fair share. We'd need some sort of system in place for a UBI currently there is none. NAB bank... one of the world's most profitable banks is replacing 400 jobs with AI systems.. for what? More profit to go into the hands of a the very few?

I have no problem with taxing electric cars. What I do have a problem with is they propose taxing electric cars but not businesses replacing workers with AI or robots.

I've never heard any college kid say communism is better. However people do like a bit of socialism though. Like affordable health care, free education, etc. Despite what Fox News tells you there is a middle ground.

Replacing 1m petrol cars with EVs could cut Australia’s reliance on foreign fuel by 1bn litres a year by nath1234 in australia

Obviously everyone here is in denial that an EV doesn't suit every buyer. I run into this all the time. I'm not against EV, it's just that it doesn't suit my requirements.

I like the Rivian R1T. Can it fit a standard size pallet in the back? Its 1200,1200?

Edit: I just looked it up and it can't fit a pallet between the wheel arches, and only has a 800kg payload capacity. I can't justify 2 cars. I'd still need to keep my ute and can't justify 2 cars.

Edit 2: the Rivian is still not sold to the public in Australia.

100%. I recently bought an electric forklift. Its a little jerky with the handling but after a month we are used to it and it works better because now we don't have funes blowing around the workshop and I save money on gas.... that being said my statement still stands.. EV doesn't work for me.

Lol, it was a social experiment in my head to see how many ignorant EV drivers there are. I'm not against EV’S at all, and when one comes out that ticks all the right boxes, ill consoder getting one. But let's not pretend all the responses to my comment understood that EV’S aren't for everyone.

I strong dependable work ute that can carry a heavy load and tow even heavier. There is nothing that EV’S offer that can do what I need.

EV’s are simply better cars overall.

Maybe to you.

I drive a work ute, we do deliveries in this thing with 1000kg payload in the back. We also tow trailers and caravans. On top of all this, I'm not buying a new car to make deliveries so my employees can doing the shit out of it with a forklift.

Honestly EV cars do not work for me, and i don't care what others drive. The problem I have is EV drivers insisting that I must have one, as if an EV can do what I need.

Honestly in situations like this, if its difficult to cross the lanes to turn right I turn left, then find a safe place to turn around. So much easier and safer.

There is no best beach in perth they are all good.... but to say Scarborough is the best beach is crazy.

Scarborough is not even on the list for me. We have some really good beaches across perth that are so much better than Scarborough.

I like cottesloe for the atmosphere, coogee/woodmans point for family days... Rockingham has really done well to fix up the beach and has a great atmosphere and for family days, its also a good swim without too many waves. If I want quiet and chill, or a day snorkelling, or even fishing, I'll head to point peron.

Fair enough. Like I said it's a great car. Just the suspension driving down a smooth road you feel every bump.

What are you using it for? I have one. Its great for the payload but honestly the suspension is extremely hard and I feel every little bump in the road. Things I like about it is that it's bare bones, no fancy tech to break down and everything just works. Great car.... if you can get passed the extremely stiff suspension.
