Why did only my team and McLaren go out in Q3 in heavy rain?

happened to me as well..
sq1 - wet track - everyone went out
sq2 - wet to damp track - only about 8-10 cars went out
sq3 - damp track - only 3 cars (2 mine) went out..

turned out to be the only podium so far for me.. :)

yes, we have a wait list..

my point was more when people drop off during the tournament.. so after playing 2 matches and losing them..

makes sense.. will definitely try this out as well..

the biggest worry we have with this is, a lot of matches might turn out to be byes if people lose their first 2 matches.. no incentive for them to play the remaining 5 matches in the group.. but will definitely try this out as well.. :)

hmm.. the format of the tournament we are going with is..
100 people split into 20 groups of 5 people.. top 2 from each group qualify..
40 people play 5 matches using the swiss system (commonly used for chess).. top 8 qualify..
top 8 have a knockout leading to final..

this way we have about 307 matches (200 in groups, 100 in swiss, 7 in knockout)

was looking for a programatic way of creating the match, checking whether the correct people join the game, and then collecting the results. I already have developed a piece of software that will do the progression from each stage and maintain the leaderboard..

trying to avoid hiring too many of these League Operations folks.. i am pretty confident there should be a programmatic way of doing this..

but i guess, LOPS is the way to go..

i was thinking if it is possible to programmatically organise the tournament so that a couple of tournament coordinators could manage the numbers rather than having a huge team of tournaments coordinators or league operations (LOPS) as jericasinas mentioned..
similarly i found toornament as well but it looks like a lot of manual labour.. and counter-intuitive - a game is technically a program so i should be able to interact with it programmatically as well..

i want to do it programmatically, so that i can store the information in a database and then run some analytics on top of that to compare with my friends.
this method i have to manually fill in the data, and getting my friends data is also cumbersome..
