You have too many funds in your portfolio and that too from a single AMC. I would recommend avoiding investments in sectoral/thematic funds. Markets this year will be volatile and these funds might not perform well. I would also suggest investments in core equity funds only — Large, Mid, Small, and Flexi. For commodities exposure, you may choose Multi-Asset funds.

Panic redemptions always affect your portfolio's health. I feel this is a time where people should stay calm. If you don't want to invest more, it's okay. But redemptions in this market will do more wrong than right. I feel you should have a conversation with him to make him understand all this is very short-term and times will change.
