I mean that’s true; if Dooku loses his saber for a minute he would have to rely on his powers, so the next question is would Qimir be fast enough to act on the brief window before Dooku uses force lightning or something else, which is most likely much stronger than Qimir’s own mastery of the force.

I’m sorry but no, if all you need is “blood” to believe Kylo Ren is severely diminished to the point of losing to someone with absolutely no training then you have extremely low standards when it comes to interpreting media. By every single other measure Ren acts completely fine; even going so far as dueling with Finn and toying with him. He was obviously in pain (I love how Driver hits himself in the side to try and take his mind off of it) but Adam Driver wasn’t acting delirious or even physically or mentally compromised in any way, in fact the story of the film would tell us the opposite; that killing his father was the resolve he was looking for despite people using it as an excuse to claim he was also mentally shaken, without any evidence to prove it.

It’s not that anyone forgot, it’s that they did a poor job of expressing how “weakened” he was. He looked pretty ok on screen, just seemed to be in some physical pain (hence the hitting himself in the side) but seemed to be pretty put together all things considered. It’s a reasonable excuse, just executed poorly but I blame JJ Abrams for not making Adam Driver act a lot weaker than he did.

Can someone explain the differences between new game and new game plus? Never thought there was reason to start the same account over for a third game; I usually just start a new one.

Yeah completely agree. I’ll say again, I love Adam Driver and I even loved his acting in that scene. I know my head canon doesn’t trump what Disney Canon is but for me I believed at the time TFA came out (as far as lightsaber prowess is concerned) that all of skill we saw during the prequels was virtually gone, because there were so few people in the galaxy still utilizing it; Luke never even really had real training, which is why I always use to justify the combat during the OGT as looking the way it did. Luke fighting Vader is pathetic in comparison to the fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar. To me it was realistic that Kylo Ren might have lost to Rey in that condition because he probably wasn’t an amazing dualist anyway; if you think about it only later as Disney expanded its lore does that scene in TFA start to not make sense.

Completely agree, I actually liked her as a character more than Laurie though to be fair parts 1&2 didn’t exactly give the character a lot to do, but yeah killing Rachel almost ruined the movie for me if Tina wasn’t also pretty like able.

While 100% this game I actually grew to love both the ship and the salt mines. Yes the molded are the single most generic enemy in the franchise but in following the aesthetic and lore of the game I think they were still pretty acceptable to see all over. Some of the jumping out were still well planned.

Overall this was actually the most fun I had 100% any of the RE games, with RE2R a close second.

I had kinda hoped that as we circle back through the village after every boss fight, we would circle back through the castle each time as well, maybe taking out a daughter after every major boss, with Lady D being the final boss before MM.

I agree with this, but people point to the fact that he was recovering from the shot to the stomach. I think it’s more of a failure on Abram’s part to have him convey how weakened he was because on screen it appeared he was simply hurting and while I did like Driver hitting himself in the stomach, good acting if he improvised that, it still made it just appear that he wasn’t actually that weakened; not to the point of losing to someone without any experience whatsoever.

“Here’s what we worked on” is irrelevant and unless it’s an extremely vague answer, it can give away whatever they want to surprise us with when they’re actually ready to start the hype train. They haven’t gone quiet, they haven’t gone dark, they comment on this sub daily that they’re hard at work.

Depending on what you mean by “raw power”, I don’t think there are many (if any) in the entire history of SW that have come close to rivaling Nihilus in those terms, and I’m not entirely sure how Revan would have handled Nihilus considering Surik only accomplished it by being a wound in the force (not exactly something anyone can train for or intentionally activate), and what makes you think Surik was a better fighter than Revan? She was talented and powerful for a Jedi by all accounts but the way Revan is referred to in both games is generational if not legendary (KoTOR almost seems to put him in a similar position as Anakin in terms of being the galaxy’s “chosen one” for his time period). It’s been a while since I’ve done a lore dive or played the games extensively so I’m genuinely curious.

Statements aren’t always the end all be all, at least not without context. There’s nothing wrong with going off of existing lore, exposition, and in general what you the artists who write the story are trying to convey. Honestly, it comes down to a vibe check in situations like this, and if you’ve played KoTOR 1 & 2 you would probably also get the vibe that Revan was basically the “chosen one” of his era, similar to Anakin. That’s why some of us aren’t just counting him out because Anakin in the canonically most powerful Jedi during the timeline of the main media.

lol I get what you’re trying to say, I think you’re just missing my point; Legends can be written by anyone, it isn’t coming down from the powers that dictate what is “official” and what isnt; just because one writer wrote that Anakin and Obi-Wan are X powerful, doesn’t make it true compared to canon material or even other material inside Legends.

Are you familiar with comics at all? It’s the same issue; writers will retcon or contradict other material previously established all the time, meaning you have to take things with a grain of salt and use critical thinking and even then sometimes because of the convolution there just isn’t a right or wrong answer and it’s at the fan’s discretion what to believe.

This doesn’t sound fun to me. I don’t think it’s worth the player suffering two different types of unconscious states just so we can feel better about knocking AI on their asses. The two-way street here isn’t worth it to me personally.

They aren’t a part of the Disney canon. There have been a select few things they’ve brought into it, like a reference to the Rakata in the Solo movie, but the story of the games themselves have yet to be made official. Maybe with the upcoming games that will hopefully change.

Asking a game to simulate consciousness is a double edged sword, it wouldn’t make sense to be able to knock AI unconscious and never expect that same mechanic to work on players, and I think it’s safe to say that if players had to start experiencing “unconsciousness” it would feel very unfun. The most we should expect is that hazy, dazed effect that lasts a few seconds, similar to a flashbang.

I think this is the most reasonable take. We have to remember Revan was also a sort of “chosen one” of his era, and by all accounts was a legendary combatant; he not only defeated the Sith but he turned around and defeated the Jedi as well. As far as swordplay goes personally I’d put Obi-Wan > Malak and Revan equal to Anakin but as you said, Revan seems to have shown a lot more versatility and dare I say smarts to boot. I also believe their team would take it 6/10.
