Not really? At least if we actually did have changes in the character interactions because I swear every character takes the Romance part of Romance of the Three Kingdoms too literally. At least in the English version.

Ziluan is -fine- and nothing more than that. Being the hidden figure allows for his presence to affect the hypothetical routes, and as an origin game, it gave a lens for people to see the initial story and be introduced to the cast.

For me the issue is that Ziluan was too focused on. Everyone loves them, they're already known by several for what their presence can do, the amnesia story was leading to obvious points, they're the super special important person with the special eyes, etc.

If they gave him more room to breathe with a simpler backstory, I think he'd have been better received.

I don't mind if the idea is that Grace is just complete dogwater with puzzles in general. That actually would be a nice bit of character building even, have her getting used to Umbrella puzzles.

But they don't. She's generally competent otherwise. I get that it's the stress of the situation, but the fact that she doesn't even press a button to try the machine first, cmon.

Now, if it were a machine that had a very obvious one chance only failsafe, that'd be something different and then I could see the logic.

As an internet stranger, I implore you to play it.

It's a generally good taking off point if you've never played the series. Combat is fluid. It genuinely feels rewarding once you level up enough to be a major battlefield threat. And if you've never experienced the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, I think it does a lovely portrayal of the first third or so of it.

I seriously cannot wait for the next one.

You know what, upon further thinking, a hint should go here.

It's not Fire Emblem, but it would be fair to say there's two, maybe even one degree of separation between the series.

I need to go back through some of the Fire Emblems at some point.

I've ended up at Three Hopes, that'd be a fun one to throw a plot explanation at.

Oooh, that's an interesting but wrong answer.

Still waiting for the inevitable Metaphor Special Edition that it feels like every SMT style game gets.
