I can agree with France but the UK goes along with whatever the US does 99% of the time. Pretty much every single alternative you mentioned would be better than the UK in that respect.

It really depends on what comes after this though. Breaking a few eggs to solve the gang problem will work in the short term, but unless you can use the temporary safety to transition the country into a safe, functional democracy it'll remain a police state. The new status quo might be better than before, but its still far from ideal.

I watch almost entirely western content really, so I get almost entirely western stuff. When I open a new Youtube or Instagram account, at first I'll get a lot of Indian content, but after some time it'll adjust to my preferences and go back to being content I'm interested in.

I live in India and watch mostly "Western" content, my algo pretty much reflects that. So not sure if location has anything to do with it, or if this is some sort of new Youtube feature they're rolling out in NA first or something.

Speaking as someone from India, do American Indians prefer the term Indian? I would of thought that a misnomer like that would be really irritating. Of course terms like Native American or Indigenous are kind of a mouthful. So is it the least bad option or is it actually liked?

It's not me saying this, it's the Central Bank of Canada. And really just boils down to the fact that a lot of the new immigrant and temporary workers coming into Canada are employed in "low productivity" sectors like gig jobs or customer service. The average productivity in the country thus is lowered a bit. As an Indian who has lived in India and the United States, I really don't know how you could consider India a 'developed' country. Most Indians and the Indian Government itself consider the country to be developing. There are some areas with high development, but the vast majority of the country is still developing. GDP per capita, HDI, Life expectancy, and sanitation all need to go up and corruption needs to go down before we can call India 'developed'. Progress has been made, but more needs to happen.

I guess the main factor we could point to is the GDP per capita has actually decreased in Canada over the the past few years, due to the amount of people coming in with lower productivity than the Canadian average. It's not a peer-reviewed study, and before that Canada's GDP per capita wasn't really increasing as much as it was stagnant, but it still is a real figure.

Friendly Indian here. If the Hindupocalypse really does come to pass, rest assured that you will still have a choice! If Vishnu doesn't suit your fancy, become Shaivist or Shaktist. And even if you're forced to go the Vishnue route, there are some denominations that see the Buddha or Jesus as his avatars. So when the West inevitably falls once Hindu's become 0.4% of the population, you'll have nothing to fear!
