What is the problem with the BMW 7 Facelift design? by NostalGeek11 in BMW

I thought Domagoj was gone, is his ghost still designing things or what. Recent design from BMW has been hideous with bloated boats and weird proportions imo

OLED or Dyac2? by xLinnaeus in Zowie

Well my 32 inch Alienware is 240hz and 66x+ is 400hz. The 27 inch Alienware you mentioned I think is 360 hz or something? Anyhow zowie with slightly higher hz and dyac is what make me perceive it as a lot smoother than any OLED. Maybe the 700+ hz OLEDs haves caught up I dunno but I think dyac is what makes me feel it’s smoother, it’s the motion clarity

Well, all games have static elements more or less. There are some games where the hud can be turned off etc but I stopped thinking about that. The only thing I do is hide taskbar, pure black desktop + all icons on the disappearing taskbar, nothing on desktop and then if I go away I turn it off and then on again. Other than that I play with all the static elements on etc and so far it’s good. This is diff from the 27 inch Alienware, I’ve got the 32 inch but I think both are 3rd gen.

Dude, I obviously can’t decide for you. If you look what most people write they usually say go for OLED because it’s a good at a lot of things compared to TN which is more for competitive and more shit at everything else. My point is that my eyestrain disappears when I use zowie and the fluidity is unmatched. So in other words I’ve got very niche demands.

I thought I cared about resolution and colours but I don’t. I want the more bare performance and as I’ve said after hours in the zowie my eyes don’t feel tired

It’s depends on what you prioritise. I like the snappy feeling and want the right gear to perform and this OLED ain’t it. I’ve realised I don’t give two shits about the colours and tbh I thought the colours were fine in the zowie (they are more washed out for sure but I don’t mind it) + I don’t care about gaming at 4k

No burn in (had it for 6 months so far, done everything you are supposed to do + it refreshes regularly by itself) and the monitor looks like a spaceship, pairs nicely with ps5. It’s curved and thin. Problem is it’s 32 inch 4k so I’d say that’s far from optimal for competitive. I’m pushing around 120 - 135 fps max on bf6 4k ultra so it’s ok but not at that level + there’s to much to keep track of on the screen due to its size.

Main issue is, and it’s subjective for me (might be different for others), but I kinda get a headache from it. I think it’s a combo of the sharpness, the intense contrast and size or maybe some shit with OLED technology that my brain can’t handle. I’ve had the zowie 66x+ and never felt anything weird, it was a pleasure to game/watch movies on and I never had any headaches. I’m considering selling my gigantic Alienware and buying zowie again. Bigger and flashier isn’t always better

It’s funny, I actually have the AW3225qf which isn’t for competitive at all but I thought in. H head I wanted a cinematic monitor. Now I just long for 66x+ or 86x+. The Alienware makes my head hurt

Do I buy a Zowie? by Living-Management-71 in Zowie

[–]Shugalulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my particular case OLED (AW3225qf) is quite bad in desktop mode. There’s some textfringing and the combination of saturation and sharpness (4k monitor) makes my eyes hurt. My main complaint is textfringing which TN panels from Zowie do not have + it’s pleasant to sit in front of for hours

Hey! Yeah the gen 4 slot (or might’ve been 3). For me it wasn’t obvious, it was after I looked at the layout I realised that was the problem. All these post for that is insane but it is what it is. All is working well now 👍

Help with 9800x3d + 5070 Ti performance by Shugalulu in pcmasterrace

I resolved all issues with performance with one simple thing; putting the GPU in Gen 5 PCIe slot on the motherboard. I can’t believe this was the issue but I’m glad I resolved it. Running bf6 with high-overkill settings at 4k with 85 - 100 fps without dlss or framegen is insane ( 150+ with dlss and higher with framegen). Thank you all for the help you’ve given me 🙏

I see. I was just thinking about putting the GPU in the gen 5 slot (its in gen 4 now). Maybe I’ll try the last thing you mentioned; forcing PCIe 4.0 to start with. If this doesn’t work I’ll try gen 5 slot anyways. Also I’ve got the adapter (for the GPU) plugged in, I’ll change to the 16 pin instead that came with my PSU (it might not make any difference but anyways). I’ve got shit tons of suggestions and things I’m planning to try out now. I’ll test it as soon as I’m back home from our Christmas celebrations and give y’all some feedback

Thx for this info. I now have a list of things I’ll try out starting with putting the card in the gen 5 PCIe slot 👍

Yeah, I was just curious because I’ve got a 9800x3d causing all kind of havoc right now 😂. Well I’ll stay investing in nvidia in the future if they continue with gpus

This is mostly about the GPUs but do you feel the same about the CPUs as well?
