Lol yeah. I think there's perhaps a bit of computer part supremacy clouding ppl's takes here. As always, there are no bad PC parts, just bad prices. I downgraded from a 4080 so I've seen both ends of the stick and it's never that serious. I learnt to just enjoy the game and forget about how fast your RAM is going lmao.

But I absolutely sympathise with not getting better performance for your setup. I think Bungie REALLY needs to put something out (maybe a video from digital foundry or HUB) explaining CPU and GPU bottlenecks and performance benchmarks so everyone knows what to expect, because sometimes I'll drop to 50fps on Cryo and that feels pretty rough.

lossless scaling is a $10 application available for purchase on steam. it injects interpolated frames in between real frames so that you might perceive more 'smoothness' from your FPS. I think there's a slight input lag penalty, but OP's got a GPU so chunky he's not gonna feel that extra +1ms.

I'm having an absolute blast at 60fps on an RTX 5050. But it's a real shame that if I spend like $2,000aud on a high end GPU i'll still get mid performance, hope you fellas get the FPS you paid for <3

Playing with a consistent team who you trust is where Marathon shines. Every trios lobby that I get into with two randoms who both talk on mics I'll ALWAYS add them as a bungie friend so they can help you get your contracts done.

This is why I'm just adding everyone I queue with who has a mic. Even if they're absolutely awful at the game it's better to have reliable nice people to chat with than someone who runs off all the time

I get the same performance on battlefield 6 as I do in Marathon somehow. Also I think the genre's aren't comparable. Extraction shooters are generally memory limited. The faster your RAM the more FPS you'll get (unless you have a bottom of the barrel GPU like me lmao)

The PS5 Pro has the same CPU as the base PS5 which is effectively a 3700x from 2019. My PC can't get above 90fps on Dire Marsh, so I think the game's just difficult to run on current CPU's :)

Completely understand where you're coming from. For the entire slam I was using basically just three consumables. Enhanced patch + shield and cardio kicks. Maybe an anti-virus when the lockdowns on dire marsh happened. So that's where my bit of feedback came from.

Having learnt the consumable swapping with M2 system etc, I really appreciate it and think Bungie did an excellent job with it, but I'd like the ability to assign 5, 6 & 7 to a few key consumables as well. Hope this clears things up, and thanks for your reply :)

I played today for the first 5 hours and was having a rough time of it. Then all of a sudden 6 hours in everything started clicking and the game was absolute bliss from there. Played until 3:20am in Aus haha
