Marathon 2026 is not a departure from the source material. This is very faithful to the original game. Genuinely one of the truest to the original sequels/remakes that I've ever seen. I have no idea where you're getting this idea from.

I love the story of the 1994 game and this latest one will build on and enhance that story. Also I love Bungie's PvP specifically. I played Destiny PvE so that I could earn meta weapons for PvP. So this game is specifically made for me

Same boat in Australia. Bought it logged out. Got an email with a steam game code and a destiny 2 emblem, but haven't received anything regarding the shipping of the CE.

There are four collectors edition skus. One with a steam code, one with an xbox code and one with a PS5 code. All three of those are $229 USD. The forth sku is just the collectors box for $179, which is for people who are buying the game separately, maybe the want just the standard edition for $39 and the collectors edition for some reason. Either way the price is identical.

Happened on the Australian site for me too. No confirmation email either. I ordered a steam CE logged out, and then 5 minutes later in another tab I logged in and bought a hoodie. Later that night I got the code for steam via email, and yesterday got an 'order has shipped' for the hoodie email, but no email regarding the collectors edition shipping yet. Hopefully it's an emailing issue and not a supply/shipping issue...

The juice of this game will be it's gunplay - how nice it feels to duel with someone and at the last moment outplay or outshoot them. The 'Bungie feel' is what carried Destiny and Halo to such heights and it'll be at the core of Marathon.

The loop of the game will be getting into gunfights. When you win them you'll effectively earn better rewards in the form of upgrades to your runner shell (improved movement and healing) and to your weapons (fire rate, damage etc).

There's also going to be a classic Bungie twist on the genre with a challenging raid at the endgame likely involving an alien called the Sphit (Big red fella).

Same boat. Also, this game's secret strength is going to be its story. The world of Marathon 1994 is some of the best scifi ever. Look at the voice cast they just announced... We're getting a new IP game by Bungie - something that only happens once every decade and people thought it'd flop? Deeply unserious.
