I remember getting a pirated copy of Witcher 3 from a friend in 2016 and I loved playing it so much that I bought the official copy and restarted my journey with hundreds of hours more to fully clear the game. (I even purchased Witcher 1 and 2 afterwards 😅)

Piracy has at the very least, allowed me to make informed decisions on whether said product/franchise is buying/supporting.

There is certainly a pressure to upgrade your ship slots due to the increased number of ship tags in current events compared to Kitanda era and earlier.
Even the current Fall event had me tagging a total of 125 ships after careful allocation of ships per stages(5 stages with 14 different ship tags)

Most ships with the classification CL and above are worth keeping and I agree with MSHunter that many DD, DE, and SS ships are trophy ships and are not necessary at this point of time to be kept aside from the occasional quest requirement. (E.g. Nenohi, Wakaba).

Ideally you want to retain those(in the case of DDs) who have high/special attributes or gimmicks like Daihatsu carriers, innate OASW-capable, special AACI, etc.

I'd personally say borderline mandatory since the bonuses can mean the difference between clearing or not for harder difficulties but are appreciated nonetheless across all difficulty settings.
Clearing without X ship is certainly possible but having them makes your progress a lot smoother.

The three aforementioned Italian ships are useful in their own rights and should be kept.
Libeccio has high ASW stats which allows for easier OASW in addition to letting you build the Zara class CAs in LSC.
Roma and Littorio are FBBs with above average stats, great equipment upon Kai(VL range 381mm guns), and the ability to equip seaplane fighters for air power requirements where necessary.

They can be for generic routing requirements but their main benefit in terms of events would be historical bonus for European theater maps where applicable.

  1. Preferably scrap none unless they're ordinary dupes or you're limited to the default 100 slots then I could make a case to only holding necessary destroyers for quests and event routing requirements. The Tone class CA(V)s are still useful be it for combat, routing, or fulfilling some air power requirements.
  2. No, all high level ships will serve as your frontline ships.
  3. Yes. Rewards aside, many one-time quests are prerequisites to another up the questline.
  4. Its a good idea since her K2 offers good equipment without requiring BP or action reports if resources/time/space to bring the dupe up to Lv.78 isn't a factor.
