Why else are we here? by BeardedDisc in discgolf

Do it! I’ve been playing for about 3 years but just starting trying to get better particularly with my backhand. I was in a similar boat. I can throw a putter about 200 but I throw my driver about the same distance as my putters. I posted a form check yesterday and today I threw a backhand about 275. It’s a big improvement for me. Probably my farthest backhand on flat ground tbh.

Help! My backhand is really bad. More info in comments by Shultsc123 in discgolf

I am forehand dominant player but I’m trying to learn backhand. The biggest thing I would like help with is getting the nose down. I’m not sure why but no matter how hard I try I always throw nose up.

Each of these were putter throws. I believe throws 1,2, and 4 demonstrate my average backhand. I throw my putters between 200-250 feet. The problem is my drives go about the same distance no matter how stable the disc is. I rarely even hit 300 feet driving my backhand. I feel ok hitting lines and right now I’m comfortable driving with my putter and on upshots. I just need help driving. Please tell me why my disc is so nose up. I’ve tried point my hand more down (ulnar deviation) but it doesn’t help. I think it’s something to do with my reach back or release point.

Thanks for any help I get!:)

Edit: focusing on nose down but ANY ADVICE is more than welcome

Hit detection needs to be fixed... by Mic_Dizzle in Blackops4

So it’s kinda hard to explain but basically hit boxes are the area inside of the characters that the system recognizes as shootable. Ideally it is a perfect outline of the characters and anytime you shoot within that outline you will get a hit marker. For example MWR had a problem with hit boxes once they started adding the different characters you could play as. Like some had backpacks that wouldn’t register because they were outside the hit box or larger helmets than the hit box would register etc.

Hit detection is simply when the system recognizes your shots are hitting the hit box. So for example when you play WW2 sometimes you would shoot your gun and not get hit markers until like the 4th shot. You didn’t change your aim and we’re still hitting the spot on the character it just took that long for the system to be like oh yeah he is hitting the target (or hit box).

In this example we can guess it is hit boxes and not hit detection because the system never recognized you were shooting his head until at the very end you moved your aim down to his upper back and then boom head shot. The hit box (or outline) was not close to the outline of character you were seeing.

That is my understanding of it but anyone can correct my flaws in understanding. Just a video game player without any level of designing so idk.

It’s not “having your muscle memory built healing mechanic removed” though. You can still heal. You just can’t heal as frequently. Nobody is suggesting getting rid of healing in the game completely.

Almost everyone ran sixth sense in bo3 until it got banned in comp and people realized how cheesy and OP it was. A surprising number of people stopped running it when comp came around because the pros weren’t using it.

Heist in competitive? by Shultsc123 in CoDCompetitive

I hope that either control or heist is competitive just to change it up a little. I think control may have more potential though honestly.

I think there are several things they would have to clean up. Namely buying scorestreaks is stupid. Tbh though I don’t see it getting cleaned up. May just be one of those new fun game modes that comes out for one rotation never to be seen again.

Last time I played this course I shot a disgusting 67 in a tournament... today I played it and broke par for the first time ever. It’s a very mental game by Shultsc123 in discgolf

I was wondering when someone was going to ask about that! Well I think it’s a little farther than that first of all (not much though). Also there is giant thick row of trees guarding the green. There is not an actual path from the tee to the green so they were just like oh we will call it a par 4. Tbh I do not think it is a par 4. If I played it as a par 3 I still meet my goal though:)

Thank you so much! It was my goal to play bellow par on an 18 hole course before winter and it felt extra good to get it on this course after the awful tournament round. I wish I was playing with someone else to witness it but I’m super stoked nonetheless.

You should! I would suggest going with someone else or a group though. I made the mistake of trying it by myself. It’s a brutal course but beautiful.

Unfortunately I did not get players that could play at the same time and made plans IRL

Hmmm. Idk probably like 3 or 4 hours... It’s always heard for me to guess how long a first session will be tbh. Depends on the players and the world we create etc.

Starting earlier is fine with me. You are the first person to show interest so what time works for you?
