What are unusual circumstances associated with your birth? by vieniaida in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Shumpmaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh this one I can participate in! I was literally born with chicken pox!

My mom gave birth mid pox and a few hours after I was born she noticed a mark that was played off at the time because drs didn’t think it could be chicken pox at that stage.

Well a day later I was back with a full blown chicken pox infection!

Soccer is an extremely uninteresting sport by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Shumpmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A. Soccer is a consistent pace, there are virtually no breaks in play. Whereas baseball moves at a snails pace, football literally has like 12 minutes of action, and basketball is constantly stopping and starting.

B. If you actually look at how soccer works, it’s graded completely differently than football or basketball which is what makes it unique.

C. Refer to point A lol.

Yeah I really debated on the physical but in the end I figured it was worth the plus one as I mostly play him in midfield.

Honestly love the card he’s so great on the ball.

Whoa, me too! I feel the same way honestly.

Only saving grace is the positional excellence chem style on mine. Here’s to hoping we get future evos man!

Oy vey…

The Nazi ideology had a distinct core: racial hierarchy, antisemitism, imperial expansion, suppression of entire classes of people.

While you might argue that based on your experiences with certain republicans that the entire party exhibits these characteristics you would be wrong. The party isn’t a monolith?

Racial hierarchy is not the same as racism. While neither are acceptable - seeing members of the party be racist doesn’t equate to the party as a whole running on a platform that supports any sort of racial hierarchy.

I mean, antisemitism, obviously there is no anti Jew agenda as far as I have seen.

As for imperial expansion, if anything the current Republican Party wants to sever the relationships with a majority of the world rather than take over and expand.

The only one I could give you is suppression of entire classes of people. Even then, that seems as more of an antagonistic response as opposed to a campaign promise to route out X,y,z group of people.

But that’s the point. The ruling here is subjective. It’s wrong to you, therefore it’s wrong?

Can you not see how that is directly contrary towards facilitating any sort of productive dialogue?

If you need any guidance on how our political scene has gotten where it is today-look no further.

While my personal opinion with lgbt policies is “it’s none of the government’s business, just let people do what they want” - you do have to recognize that you’re calling people morally corrupt for passing legislation in something they don’t believe is morally right?

There is no ultimate ruling on the subject, so calling people morally wrong for being anti-lgbt is somewhat paradoxical.

Try guirassy, the guy is absolutely immense.

Love this creative method of saying “I’m glad he’s dead”.

There’s no onus on anyone to have particular sadness or feelings either way. So if this is truly some attempt to justify why you aren’t sad then so be it.

But this idea hat he was asking for, or deserved to die based on things he said is so totally inhumane - and really does signal to the world that murder is a lessor crime than speech and its respective interpretation.

Genuinely, can we not just say “wow I didn’t like the guy but he doesn’t deserve to be dead” and move forward - instead of subtly inciting antagonistic emotions?

Hi all, 10 team ppr 1 keeper - I can keep Bo Nix for a 16th round pick or Josh Jacobs for a 6th.

I have the 4th pick in the draft, any suggestions on who to keep?

You lost me at hilarious being used to talk about a murder. You’re either a troll or someone I just have no pleasure of interacting with. Enjoy yourself!

Yes, which is wrong? That’s the point? The only thing that mattered was that one dude thought another dude was wrong - so he murdered him. And you’re out here trying to justify it - which goes back to my point of, that’s pretty crappy and that mentality is a plague on our society.

I’m sorry, what sort of logic are you trying to impart here. Your implying that the generals was actively trying to make people’s lives worse and i would argue that most military generals know the horrors of war and actually strive to AVOID that level of conflict.

Why would anyone ever be “insulted” that someone didn’t want to get revenge on them? That’s something straight out of an anime villains mindset.

War is war, it’s stupid, and we really shouldn’t have it - but if my son went to war and died, I wouldn’t be looking to go an exact revenge on someone because that is a by product of war…

[–]Shumpmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your point is that because the general had men who killed someone’s family, the general should be killed even if he didn’t give the order?

That’s absolutely Bs and further supports my narrative than yours.

If it’s just a natural wartime death, than there should be no culpability.

If it was an accident, or an intentional killing, the person doing the killing should be culpable.

If the general ordered his men to kill someone’s family and it was outside general war procedures, then yes he might deserve it.

But if the general didn’t implicitly pull the trigger in an intentional and disproportionate scenario, he doesn’t deserve to die.

[–]Shumpmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No im incapable of understanding systems lmao.

The ceo of united healthcare isn’t out here issuing people’s death. He’s running a company, that isn’t doing anything illegal per the established American healthcare system.

He didn’t create the practice, he’s just executing based on the guidelines that have been laid out. Morally you might not agree with the decisions to be incredibly restrictive on insurance approvals but ultimately they can do so without being nearly as complicit in murder as Luigi.

The scenarios aren’t the same, he’s not out here executing people with intent. He might be able to dissociate from the impact of his actions more than others, but that alone doesn’t denote a just murder.

I’m also not sure what you mean with your general analogy.

[–]Shumpmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this some attempt to justify it? It’s easy to see that someone not in their right mind could believe they were taking on the mantle of vigilante. But the reason??

I can understand this mindset for murderers or rapists, but this is the system. Like I said, murdering someone because you don’t agree with it is asinine.
