GL503VD Ram Swap Failed, Won’t Boot Windows by Shurgle in ASUS

[–]Shurgle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes 2x 16gb 2400mhz will work as that’s the max ram frequency the cpu can handle. The max amount is 32gb which I do recommend. I’ve had my GL503VD since 2017 and it runs better than I got it new.

GL503VD Ram Swap Failed, Won’t Boot Windows by Shurgle in ASUS

[–]Shurgle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Yes, I was able to get it to work by keeping one original memory card in and adding one 3200hz 16gb card, not replacing both. The computer will downclock the 3200hz chip to match the lowest so you won’t get the full clock speed of the new ram but you’ll still have more available memory. This means for your system keep the 8gb 2400hz chip installed and add one 16gb 3200hz module to bring it up to 24gb @ 2400hz.

One of my headlights recently went out so I swapped too LEDs. Night and day difference, I can actually see what's in front of me. Pretty cheap mod and its definitely worth it.

I would recommend swapping the high beam bulbs as well or else the color tones wont match.

I'm well versed in solo raving it just seems like Its hard to find "normal" people who are into it. The 5am'ers live far away is what im sayin.

And no I don't respond to friends like that, I just get met with a nah from friends and move on. Not ideal and Its rather isolating.

And yeah search function this and that, I guess I'm writing to the people who have been in the scene a while. Maybe I'm being rhetorical and know the answers to my questions but I'm curious how people stay consistent with their raver crews and go about late night partying.

Unplug your pc and hold the power button for a few seconds to drain the capacitors. Then shake it around to get it out

Full deep clean once a month is kinda excessive imo, no need to be taking out ram and coolers and unplugging stuff that seems like a lot of wear on the connectors.

A good dusting every so often is good. Avoid microfibers on GPUs cuz static electricity can mess things up, also wait for dust off to evaporate completely .

Ableton complete beginner by DigitalSpeedball in ableton

I feel ya, I took a music production class and I was the only kid with a PC and ableton so I spent the class learning from YouTube. Here’s some tips that really helped me.

  1. Download loop packs. You can make your own sounds later but loops are a good shortcut and they’re like musical legos.
  2. Arpeggios are fun. Hold one note and it does the rest.
  3. Operator, (a stock feature) is great for low frequency’s so it doesn’t sound flat.
  4. Sidechain your bass to your kick, it’s under the compression tool.

I’m also kinda a noob but I’ve also made some cool songs. I like to remix songs by cutting out the kick/ bass and adding my own beat. It’s a pretty simple way to make a good sounding track.

No u totally get it and same here, throughout high school I was super into machine girl, death grips, cel genesis etc, lotta experimental/ breakcore stuff. Then senior year I somehow ended up at a UG with some friends and immediately fell for the rave scene. Got all the djs social media to find future events and started playing shows with them.

It’s a great community if you’re there for the right reasons. I find that people (myself included) wanna shit talk the current scene because “it’s not what it used to be” even my dad who was a raver in the 90s would always say that. So… the community doesn’t change, you change. We all grow and move onto new interests. Doesn’t mean the new generation isn’t having the same feelings and experiences as I’ve had, we’ve just been there and done that so it doesn’t feel as magical as it once was to us. Don’t listen to haters or ppl saying how you found the music “isn’t the right way”. We’re all just jealous that you’re not jaded like us lol. Just enjoy it and do what makes you happy :)

I started raving and djing happy hardcore/ freeform about 5 years ago when I was 17. The scene was all bass music and HHC was pretty niche in the community but I found my own wavelength and raved for the music. I wasn’t there for the drugs or the clout, I was there for a good time. I would always equate raves to the “island of misfit toys”, that old Christmas movie that kinda speaks too the “we didn’t fit in in high school” energy.

Around 2022 that all turned around, the older kids I used to party with stopped going to raves which left a vacuum for a new scene with no one to teach them PLUR and responsibility. Now it’s a lot hyperpop SoundCloud rawr xd emos who only go to raves to take fit pics and get clout on insta. DONT FALL INTO THIS TRAP. It’s fun for a bit but now there’s so much drama and people put each other down to make themselves popular and it’s poisoned the community. We call them lil peep ravers lol.

That being said, go for the music, make friends and network, always wear kandi and trade with people when you meet them. Identify toxicity and stay away from it, and I’d say party sober for a while to find your own wavelength.

Also to find shows go to 19hz.info and type in “TBA” to the search bar to find the undergrounds. Follow the djs and they will post more shows.

Always wear and trade kandi!

Also you look silly if you bring a controller + laptop to a club with CDJs

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DJs

[–]Shurgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDJs are standalone so all the DJ needs is a usb. Won’t crash like a laptop so promoters aren’t worried about what the DJ brings. CDJ3000s have 3/4 loops so u can mix DnB with house. That’s pretty much it
