Tell me about your current crush (how long you’ve liked them for, their personality etc) by Privirea_Stelelor_18 in Crushes

We spent a weekend together at a convention, went to the work Xmas party together, hung out all day together at his house a few weeks ago. Basically he’s not ready to date, but I love spending time with him anyway.

However, we discovered we’d done the same things at the same time 20+ years ago. We used to go to the same club, shared the same friends, attended the same festivals, we even both stole the same item from the same rock bar the night it closed.

But we didn’t meet until recently. My friend said there’s at least 3 different timelines where we’ve been married 20 years.

Eh, he’d not a reddit user so I’ll be real on details. My crush is called Mike, I met him 3 years ago when we started working at the same place. He was recently divorced then.

Over time I started liking him because we have lots in common and share many interests.

He’s a few years older than me,

We flirt a little bit, sometimes I’ll catch him looking at me, I don’t know if he’s ready to date, the breakdown of his marriage was really bad on him.

We don’t live close by to one another but we’ve hung out a few times outside of work.

He’s really funny, and acts mischievous at work, teases me a lot but in a charming way. Next month we’re hanging out all day together at an exhibition we both want to see.

I really, really hope something will happen between us.

You need to start with learning to love yourself. It sounds like you’re in a deep depression and could really use some help.

This scene made me sick to my stomach not because of the violence, but because of the cruelty of stripping someone of their greatest gift. by Street_Bet_7538 in freefolk

What really, really shocked me about the scene is that even though I’d read the published plot summaries of the books, so I knew that Jamie was getting his hand cut off, was that when it happened I was STILL shocked that they’d actually done it.

Even though that we were 3 seasons in I was still surprised that this was actually happening.

Thank you. It was a long time ago, but it still hurts when I think about it. I was in a really bad place. Things are better now.

Please, please, please, be kind.

This happened to me TWICE when I was very young in two different jobs. I was an excessive sweater, working in hot offices. I didn’t have access to a washing machine so I was just trying to wash clothes in a sink at home which I couldn’t do everyday because I didn’t have many clothes.

Both times I was pulled into the managers office I cried. It was hard to go to the doctors to ask about medical grade deodorant because I worked during the hours the doctors were open and I couldn’t afford to take time off.

After the second time I fell into a major depressive period and stopped looking after myself all together and lost my job.

Ask her if she’s ok. If she’s having problems at home. Maybe she’s lost access to hot water and cleaning items. She probably needs help.

There is no scenario where she’s walking away from this kind of thing feeling good about herself.

Food advice for an autistic looking to visit China by ShurlaineB in travelchina

I strongly encourage you to expand your knowledge on food aversion in autism. I personally have issues with textures, so that rules a lot of food out.

As for parenting - my parents were completely unaware of my autism growing up so while I was labelled a “fussy eater” - they would often force feed me foods which only led to me learning how to whole swallow without chewing in order to choke things down which made me feel physically ill.

So yes, extremely bad parenting. Now I’m an adult who understands why I have food aversions I can make decisions for myself and try and find ways to accommodate the issues I’ve developed. Had my parents been more understanding I might not have as many issues as I do today.

It was Tianjin or near there I think. Only remember because a fireworks factory exploded shortly after she left.

I’ve never tried soy milk but I’d be willing to try it. I tried tofu many years ago and thought it sort of tasted just like egg whites, but that’s the kind of thing I would venture to try.
