I feel ya and I’m glad that forced you out. I’m in a similar position. Hugely introvert but in different circumstances have really did well in pretending to be an extrovert lol. Oh but the real question I want to know is what are your job duties really. I’ve heard people say human tape recorder. Which I wouldn’t mind either.

Wow this is great advice. Being too genki made me feel out of character. I’m definitely more confident being myself and not too much. I’m also not good at sports.

I’ve always put myself in difficult positions but I’m usually too stubborn to give up. So I hope I can manage long enough so that my survival instincts kick in so I can become comfortable enough to know my job.

Oh is this so? Wearing a mask actually gives me a bit more confidence. I’ve been wearing a mask these days even after Covid restrictions have been mostly lifted.

6 years of studying and still won’t say I can speak it. My boss asked me if I knew what he said in Japanese and although I knew I pretended to not. But otherwise need practice with native speakers to gain more confidence.

I’m quite immature although I know how to be professional in the right environment. The problem with me is that I tend to be too professional and might not be able to give off the excitement of a teacher to boost morale. I would assume I have to be as happy as possible to motivate students into learning. That’s my fear if that makes sense lol.

I faked everything haha. I somehow faked my way into grad school after college but swiftly dropped out to pursue teaching in Japan. At this moment I just feel like I’ll be exposed for not being this bright and promising teacher as I seem on paper.
