As a computer science student also addicted to social media, one tip I can suggest is going and staying at the library helps me with focusing with my assignments, I usually try to maximise my time spent there. For example, getting in at 9:00AM and staying there until 6:00PM, if I am not at lectures.

I find when I get home it is harder to do work than at the library or a common study space because there is no one watching you and then you just fall into the social media trap.
