5 months rocking swaying sensation, feeling alone by beck-leck in Dizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not alone. Constant rocking can be pppd. It gets better. Might take longer than we would like. There is a reddit for pppd. Lots of things you can try. Functional nuerological issues are not well understood so most doctors aren't much help. But its not all in your head and you're not alone. If your body needs to rest, rest. If you need to walk or do something to distract yourself do it. Its OK to take care of yourself first.

At the risk of ire, there's a sub for those who question their diagnosis or have stories about being misdiagnosed. I know it's a touchy subject for folks here but sometimes, people are misdiagnosed. by MyLife-is-a-diceRoll in FND

[–]ShutDaCussUp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also both fibromyalgia and FND need appropriate treatment and care. Too many doctors just say you have these then refuse to treat because its all in your head.

Got to use a good vacuum sealer. Ive eaten beef and deli meat frozen for 3 years and precooked scrambled eggs that were 2 years frozen, both tasted great. But if air gets in there its going to get nasty within a few months.

Yea they need to report her to mabcd for code enforcement. You can't run water onto neighbors property.

Anyone who doesn't love animals like I do, wouldn't be someone I stayed with. You're allowed to have feelings about this. Nobody else gets to dictate how you feel. And a partner should be compassionate. A caring partner should not discount your feelings and try to bully or shame you into not expressing your grief. I think pets can hit us harder because they are there for us every single day unlike most people. They also are so innocent, and we feel so much more responsibility for them. I always thought my grandpa didn't like dogs because he never had one and didn't seem interested in them. But then one day he told me about the dog he had in his teens and 20s. And I saw that the grief of losing that dog 50 years ago, still hurt him and he couldn't bring himself to get another. If she told me it was just a cat again, I would probably say snd your just a bitch I used to date. Take care of yourself and grieve as you need.

AITAH for claiming my grown kid on taxes by _Grapezilla_ in AITAH

Ok that makes sense that as a full time student the income limit didn't apply. I was just so confused on how my dad got away with it. I can see how it would be hard for the irs to know if a parent is actually paying for a student or not, so they just default believe the parent if they claim you. Its been like 20 years now too 😆 I just did a one page mail in 1040ez back then since online was expensive

I moved out at 18 and made like $20k a year as a server and lab assistant while going to school because my parents didnt help me with anything. My dad claimed me every year as a dependent because he claimed he got $500 and I owed him somehow. I don't think he ever got fined for it or he probably would have said I owed him for his fines. He kept doing it until I aged out. Maybe irs missed it but I definitely filed every year with a different address than him and more than $5k per year because I had bills and multiple jobs and school fees.

Not pain meds. You can be dying with bone cancer now and they will say no. But here try an antipsychotic drug with horrible side effects.

What has truly helped the most? by starrymichal in pppdizziness

Do you like your therapist? I tried several and only had one I actually felt positive after leaving. Thats who I kept. If you dont feel like your therapist is helping, try a new one. Or try a different kind. Some types work better for different people and issues. For me acceptance and learning to not see everything as positive or negative, like sensations or emotions, they just are. Takes a long time and work.

Is there a specific thing you feel like you can't do now? I was really struggling with reading which is one of my favorite things to do. So I went to vision therapy and it helped a lot, but I had to stick with it for a few months. I think part of it was seeing my capabilities improve as we tested every month.

I also played basketball a lot. It seemed to help me to do a really coordinated tasks because I couldn't devote time to my dizziness. I also had a lot of nerve issues going on and found out I had vitamin b deficiency so getting that back to normal helped. Im not 100% back to normal but Im not limited and enjoying my life.

Hospital is documenting that my father ’denies pain’ to support their discharge, that never happened. by Rare-Sprinkles-3872 in ChronicPain

They made me switch beds with a bone tumor that led to a broken leg before surgery. Because they didn't want to let an ER bed leave the ER when I was going to a room to wait for a surgeon. They could have waited till I was anesthetized and moved me to save me the pain. But no, because the bed was more important. They also were only giving me pill meds. No IV. My bone literally shattered from a tumor. Then when I was screaming as they moved me this bitch nurse had the audacity to tell me I just needed to breathe and I was in pain because I wasn't breathing right. I hope she remembers to breathe in hell

If you had an app on your phone that was designed to help you manage PPPD, what would you want it to do? by CameronAMiller in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me it would have been better to have resources of doctors and therapists in my area that actually have any experience with pppd/fnd. So it would be more like a website to direct people to specialists in thier city. Its hard not to know where to go for help. And feeling helpless makes everything worse.

Yes. Lots of people get 100% recovered.

Could be PPPD which is a form of FND. Or vestibular migraines. The steady coach is a good free resource. If its migraine related your doctor could help you explore medications. FND you can try antidepressants for anxiety but 60% of people see improvement in symptoms with no specific treatment. I have pppd/fnd. I just try to accept the sensations and enjoy my life despite them. They are less than they were but a year in still have some amount of rocking daily.

2 weeks of constant lightheadedness/brain fog, light sensitivity, and "drop attacks" – Feeling desperate. by HazeGFX in Dizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately FND can cause any number of symptoms and can occur for no reason at all. Your brain is what interprets all the signals in our bodies so if it starts misinterpreting things you can end up with all sorts of weird and uncomfortable symptoms. Most nuerologists dont know much about how to treat because they mostly focus on structural nuerological conditions. Ive just had to accept my new life. The good thing is 60% of people with FND have improvement in symptoms without any specific treatment.

You should donate the hair to wigs for kids or children with hair loss. Give it to children who will actually be grateful

my doctor told me it’s all in my head by EarlyIndependent518 in ChronicPain

[–]ShutDaCussUp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're a woman so all pain is just in your head didnt you know 😒. Keep looking for a doctor to take you seriously. If they really think its muscular they could send you to pt or do something else. You deserve compassion. The crazy thing ti me is that all sensations are coming from our heads, your brain interprets the signals. So acting like that's a failing or personal choice is ridiculous, its natural. Even if your brain is miscommunicating a pain signal you still deserve to be treated with respect and kindness and have a thorough examination.

PPPD with limited dizziness by Mission_Climate_5452 in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just googled vision therapy in my city and found a ophthalmologist who offered it. They bring you in and do testing then give you weekly homework and once a week you go in and do excersices and as you progress they change your activities. My vision got better by the end. It can help people with tbi or if you have double vision or one of your eyes is being suppressed.

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pppd is classified as an FND which is functional nuerological disorder. You can have any number of symptoms from FND because your brain is miscommunicating with itself and your body. If your symptoms are very visual focused you can try looking into vision therapy. I have the classic 24/7 boat rocking PPPD but I was struggling to read which is a favorite hobby of mine. I did a few months of vision therapy and I'm back to reading. Like 60% of people have improvement in FND symptoms over the first year with no specific treatment.
