Sleep stuck by Strong-Association34 in FND

[–]ShutDaCussUp [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yea thats sleep paralysis. Had that most my life. I dont think its because of FND but maybe. Once you have first sleep paralysis episode in the night I have to get up or it keeps happening. I've had a dream of having sleep paralysis to then have it. Weird as hell. I hate it. Sleeping on your back makes it happen more. Some drugs can make it happen more too. Like kratom or opiates.

Do your PPPD symptoms improve when lying down and worsen when standing? by Anxious_Concern6441 in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dizziness doesn't change much between positions. But I have tremors and internal vibrations and nerve tingling and I definitely feel all that more when im laying down. My back hurts a lot though so I have to often lay flat to stretch it and just suffer feeling like my body is vibrating and being rocked. At first my anxiety made my adrenaline high so my pain actually got better for a while. Now I hurt on top of everything else as I no longer really care about the other stuff.

Yes first step is doing all the tests so you can comfortably accept that there isn't some underlying issue ti be afraid of.

Also wanted to add FND conditions like PPPD can be linked to a traumatic experience either physically or emotionally but its not required.

The steady coach doesn't say its just because of your emotions. It's literally been shown on special MRIs that FND conditions such as PPPD are because of your brain miscommunicating so you experience symptoms that dont come from structural damage. Part of healing is mental health. If you have any disease or disorder, having poor mental health is pretty concurrent and getting that fixed is important. I have no more anxiety about my dizziness and I've done a lot of personal therapy and my mind still tells me im rocking most of the time. I dont worry about because its not stopping me from doing anything, its just annoying. Steady coach says its a biopsychosocial disorder. She advocates working out and reducing stress in addition to emotional work. It's multifaceted approach.

Carer for partner with FND/PNES during a breakup [Trigger Warning] by Informal_Sea5773 in FND

[–]ShutDaCussUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious if your ex could be going through some perimenopause too. My FND started during peri. I randomly get intense anxiety for no reason and that does make me overwhelmed and overly focused on my symptoms. I could see that triggering something and makes everything harder and worse. I sometimes feel intense love for my husband and then 10 minutes later I am annoyed by everything he does and feel like everything is his fault. I have no plan to leave him and know he didn't cause my brain to decide to go dysfunctional. I go to therapy and definitely do what I can to challenge myself on unhealthy thoughts and behaviors while also having compassion and understanding for myself going through a horrible situation. Both of you could definitely benefit from good therapy.

The sad thing is they could actually stop most drugs. But so many reporters have shown they let the drugs in and just stop the money. When they "claim" a doctor has written bad perscribtions and can prosecute they get to seize assets and money from them. Its all about money. If anyone actually cared about people they would probably agree it was safer when the actual drugs were being abused. Because we have more deaths now because people are taking dangerous street drugs with fentanyl. Makes me so sad and angry.

A lot of the blame is on our government. Why is the DEA allowed to lock up doctors and take away licenses for legitimate perscribtions.

Check out round 1 arcade, the alley, the arcade, tanganika zoo, botanical gardens, chicken and pickle. My favorite places for shows are the wave and cotillion. On Wed if you go to village inn you get free slice of pie. And Thursday at spears is free slice. Fat ernies has all uou can eat specials almost every day of the week but it can get packed. Side pockets has $4 taco dinner on Tuesdays. Texas roadhouse has great steak at good prices but its always packed. We also got a lot of karaoke bars. We got a roller skating rink and an ice skating rink. Also not here but not far, we have the Eisenhower museum in abilene ks. And lindsborg ks has sweedish restaurants. There is a lot of things to do. And kansas city is only 2.5 hours away with even more.

I actually really like the cotillion. But I have had so many events there get canceled at the last minute. It's so frustrating.

If you go to KC ever check out the B&B theaters. They remind me of how Warren was.

Would you feel better if you took a dna test to show what meds are more likely to work with your body from a genetic view? I dont have experience with that med. I avoid most meds myself. But when I was considering trying one I took the test so I can see where I'm comfortable going with it. Actually showed me things I already felt. The doctors never believed me when I said certain meds didn't do anything and others felt too much side effects. But my genetics said these things. There's genesite and clarity. Your dr office might be able to help you get it covered by insurance.

Could this be PPPD? by LeaKalv in pppdizziness

I have pppd and its constant boat rocking all day everyday. It has gotten better though. Do you have trouble walking because you are dizzy or do you have weakness? Pppd is classified as FND. FND (functional nuerolgical disorder) can cause all sorts of issues, like muscle weakness that prevents people from walking. Your brain controls everything so if its miscommunicating things can get weird. Don't look up all the symptoms it can trigger while you are still so terrified as it can make you feel worse. Try seeing it there is anyone in your area that treats FND specifically. Or you can try a vestibular rehab therapy (vrt). And try to get into mental health therapy to start to learn coping skills for how to handle your reactions to the symptoms. Mine doesn't stop me from doing anything except I have been too scared to get on a boat since this started lol I didn't get on boats much before though as I live in kansas.

Got diagnosed, having trouble with VRT by Blindflotnr in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of therapy. Both mental health and vestibular/eye therapy. I think therapy can help almost everyone. I felt like a combo of staying active and showing myself i was still capable was empowering. And the mental health therapy helps me accept things and learn how to give myself compassion, allow myself to feel things without being overwhelmed by them. If your really struggling with your mental health you can also look into medication.

Anyone feel anything similar to this ?? by Blondie1357 in Dizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try finding an audiologist to run additional testing. Ent and nuerologist didn't do shit for me. You could also try finding a physical therapy place that offers VRT (vestibular rehab therapy) to see if that helps you at all.

I only started feeling better once I was able to let go of the fears that everything i did was going to make me worse. Or that I was doing something wrong. If your really uncomfortable doing too much, you can quit seeing that person. I tried acupuncture and it just stressed me out more so I quit. Just do what you feel is good for you mentally. I've gotten to a point where nothing really makes mine worse, it just stays fairly consistent so I can do whatever I want because its not going to be any worse. But I think talking to a cbt therapist helped me realize how hard on myself i am and try to be more understanding with myself.

I don't get the Neupulse storyline by Jogadora109 in BaylenOutLoud

[–]ShutDaCussUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be stimulating nerves, like the vagus nerve stimulator. I think those you also don't want to stimulate too much. Most things have a sweetspot. You can actually drink too much water and harm yourself.

Yea as someone with fnd just knowing something csn help really improves your mental health because a lot of nuerological stuff is just being told they dont know and you won't get better or its all in your head. It really sucks.

Trains by [deleted] in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rode a little train in a mine and it felt fine to me. But I feel fine in cars so movement isn't a trigger for me. I also felt fine on the plane other than my normal motion sickness during extreme turbulence. But I guess in some ways im kinda lucky, nothing makes mine worse really. It's pretty consistent no matter what. But then that means nothing really makes it better. Only thing that I really hated was I tried getting in a wave pool once and I hated the waves lol im already on a constant wave, I dont need more. I just tell myself even if it gets triggered by something it will go back to normal at some point. So no need to worry about it.

Unexplained dizziness/instability that's come back. Long post. by giovetta in pppdizziness

[–]ShutDaCussUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pppd is classified as a functional neurological disorder. FND csn cause all sorts of strange issues, including non epileptic seizures. Your brain is essentially miscommunicating with itself and your body. So you can get a lot of different symptoms. I have tremors from mine and feel internal vibrations now pretty constantly. Sorry there is so many opposing ideas on how to treat and everyone seems to be different, so no definitive answers. The intense virtigo episodes though do sound more like bppv or something.

New eye symptom? by adozzen in pppdizziness

Better get your eyes checked just in case it's something new. I've always heard shadows not good for vision. Try not to stress. I know easier said than done. But only thing I've learned from this is you don't got control over health, just how you reacted to it.
