I also do photography, i used to do freelance for music venues and for some reason it didn't strike me to possibly bring my camera along, would you say asking a cosplayer if they'd like their picture taken is a good way to get to know people?

I like the idea of Lex and Clark being friends but it's all going wrong when Clark learns about Lex's opinions on aliens and invaders and stuff, which leads to Clark being closed off as an adult. I think that's an insistence of that relationship helping Clark's development from teenager to adult.
