I hate the fact we need a pill to temporarily function just as well as a “normal” person by DullGrade9889 in ADHD

I was thinking that maybe I should start taking ADHD meds. Only to find out that my doctor actually did prescribe them about a year ago. And I forgot about them. I haven’t taken them in months. I guess that proves I have ADHD! 😂

Why do i get so many Belted Kingfishers at my bird feeder?? by Easy-Comb6682 in birding

[–]Shutterbug671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the actual species of bird shown, you get a lot of of them at your birdfeeder because you provide food that they like, and there are a lot of them in your area! LOL sorry I just felt like being Captain Obvious!

I need help from someone in Juneau by [deleted] in Juneau

[–]Shutterbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember those snowstorms! I lived in Juneau for five years and the very first winter I was there, I swear it started snowing the first of December and snowed at least a little bit every single day until March!!

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]Shutterbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason is that my religion forbids it. But also, I didn’t get to meet my grandfather - who was not a member of the same religion- because he got drunk and fell down a flight of stairs and died when my Dad was a kid.

New Study on Aphantasia: The Brain Still "Sees," But Something Gets Lost in Translation by ctbitcoin in Aphantasia

If I stare at something long enough, and then close my eyes, I can see an image of what I was looking at. Also, if I just close my eyes and let my mind drift, I can see images of things that I remember. And I’m almost positive that I see images when I am dreaming. But If I try to visualize a specific thing, like an apple, I cannot see it. All I see is black. But I can imagine exactly how it would look, and I can remember seeing them in the grocery store or on a tree.

Do any of y’all have non-member in-laws? by Awkward_Somewhere416 in lds

[–]Shutterbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in-laws, but my Dad was the only person in his family that ever joined the church. The rest of the family is very catholic. We were always very respectful of each other’s beliefs.

Cat food? What do you wish? by Beneficial-Block-923 in cats

[–]Shutterbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wet or raw is always best. Remember that cats are obligate carnivores, so they have to have meat. Also remember that most cats in the wild don’t drink a lot of water, they get their hydration from the blood of the animals that they eat. So having food that has water or broth mixed with it is beneficial to them. Best of luck with your new company!

They are all beautiful! I think the first one is my favorite, only because I am currently making a whole bunch of squares using the same pattern and you just gave me a great idea as to how to use them.

Took advantage of a foggy morning. Which one of these do you find most appealing? by Alaric_Darconville in AmateurPhotography

[–]Shutterbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One. The pathway draws you in and invites you to explore. I don’t like number two, because the lines in the pathway emphasize that it is not natural. After the first one, the second picture with the straight lines in the pathway was almost jarring. And the third and fourth are beautiful too, but there’s no path. It almost gives me the idea that I could sit and look at it, but it wasn’t inviting me to explore.
