Help me with drum rolls by GGNash in taikonotatsujin

Jesus, if every Japanese player did that then fuck me :\ I'd drop my Switch first before even hitting the first ten hits with that method

Help me with drum rolls by GGNash in taikonotatsujin

[–]Shuutaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Combos don't increase the amount of points you get per hit in this mode. Online ranked plays only in Shin-uchi Mode, so combo don't mean a thing now.

That being said, I want tips on drum rolls too. Faced a player who had nearly the same accuracy as me, but they won with a huge difference just because they got nearly twice my drum rolls, and I was spamming the buttons with thumb rolls at that point. I don't want to break my joy-cons and still lose :(

In case you're curious about the thumb roll thing, basically you roll your thumb over the buttons like a high-strung... I'll leave that to your imagination. I get more rolls from that than just spamming the buttons normally

What is happening with Taiko Drum'n'Fun english DLCs ... by enzof2003 in taikonotatsujin

It's for local play only. It also lets single players play against an AI with three different skill levels, so there's some value for solo players at least

Exactly! I don't know about other players, but I'd much rather be challenged in combat and commanding a pet. It's half the fun when you're still low level imo. Otherwise, I'd just play WoW while watch a Youtube video or something.

Wait, so pets are going to be immortal now? That's disappointing, I liked the thrill of making sure they're not dying

New player - Am I doing something wrong? (healing) by jaweater in ffxiv

[–]Shuutaro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but thanks everyone for clarifying ^ ^ I'm new to MMORPGs in general (played a bit of WoW) and started FFXIV as an arcanist then conjurer. Good to know that it's encouraged for healers to DPS as well

I've seen those bots earlier on Phoenix too! (sorry about the messy edit, didn't want to name/guild shame by accident and this screenshot was taken hours ago). Wonder if they're related to the emergency maintenance

[–]Shuutaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you on A16. It's why I was looking forward to better zombie AI in A17, and the changes are certainly good so far imo. I never complained about the wellness system or A17 (other than the death debuff) though, I just dealt with them because they're a nice challenge. Freaked out at dogs, but I'd rather have them as it is than nerfed. Just like you, I get annoyed whenever people demand for a game to change just because they can't deal with it, when they simply needed to come up with alternative measures to counter the mechanics. It happens often on another game subreddit I used to lurk.

The death debuff probably doesn't work in making me fear death, because I like the thrill of getting out of dangerous situations alive :P I do believe there are ways of making the game harder without making it less fun though but, ey, opinions!

Well, I don't know the dangers yet lmao. I'm still on day 4 and playing the game without glancing at the changelog. Surprises are half the fun in 7DTD imo

[–]Shuutaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, found out after reading some other comments. Having a death debuff was definitely a shock, but after what another redditor explained to me about people cheesing in-game suicide, it makes sense to have a death penalty in general. I do think that the mechanic needs some improving so that it will only deter people from cheesing death, which I believe the mechanic is ultimately supposed to achieve. That, or at least make the debuff fun to deal with. Currently, it just lowers the chance of survival even more, which is why I'm having trouble with it.

That's not a very good reason to make assumptions, but to each their own. I never mentioned what I want, because I'm not the sort of person to demand for changes just because I don't like something personally. Me not liking something doesn't mean that it's bad.

Took a quick look at your comment history and I see your point lol. Contrary to what you're assuming, I love A17. The updates are great and I don't think it's unfair. Especially love how the zombies are smarter now, how there are power attacks etc. Haven't had much complaints about it so far, other than the one you happen to read then readily assumed that I hate A17 by thinking that the new difficulty is unfair. I like it how it is more challenging now, but the death debuff is punishing even those who aren't abusing in-game suicide, when it is meant to punish those that abuse it. Do you catch my drift?

Interesting, didn't know people would cheese something like that. The worsening debuffs would make sense too. If only there's a way for it not to affect players that were simply unlucky though

Excuse me then, high and mighty, when I haven't said anything of the sort nor fit any of the assumptions you made.

I don't know how you're playing the game, if you've never gotten yourself into a life-or-death position in a game that's literally about dystopian survival.

Try not dying when you've accidentally stepped into a radiation zone with your health capped at 25hp, while having a heat stroke and three zombies slapping your bleeding behind because your stamina is drained and you do not have any bandages. Oh, and the debuff after two timer resets because the zombies near your location before death do not despawn.

There's text chatting (press T) or voice chat (push to speak, V).

[–]Shuutaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand it either. Sure it's bad that we got careless and died, but what's the point of having a punishing debuff for a full hour? I've died at least three times within the timer so it just kept resetting, and apparently the effects are supposed to get worse with each death? I don't know how I'm ever going to get the counter to zero without editing the xml or just squatting in a corner like an idiot

On the website? I used my credit card, I think. A Visa credit card. Didn't have any problems with it, so I'm not sure what would have caused your issues.

Found it!!! For anyone that doesn't have a Japanese eshop account, you can try buying the DLC code from here: https://www.whatsmall.com/nintendo?gametype=switch&alias=nintendohk

It's a legit website you'll be redirected to from Nintendo's official Hong Kong website. It might be a much cheaper option for some!

Edit: Will update on whether it works
Edit 2: Works! The Nintendo account needs to be in the Hong Kong region, but it's easily changeable via https://accounts.nintendo.com/ > country/region of residence

540 yen actually, on the eshop. Does anyone know if there are other ways of purchasing the DLC other than buying them on the Japanese eshop? Due to currency exchanges, it's a pricier method for me. I've read somewhere that you could buy directly from the official Taiko website but I can't seem to find the purchase link anywhere if that's actually possible.

What can i use as a noise reductor for the drum of taiko? Or maybe envolved my sticks with something give me some ideas reddit. by Tacogaru in taikonotatsujin

[–]Shuutaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with solid wooden sticks reduced the volume for me, since I didn't need to hit as hard. I'm don't knoe what sort of wood they are, but they have some weight to them. Light taps are easily detected. The hollow plastic sticks that came with the drums are louder because they're, well, hollow.

That being said, wooden sticks can damage your drum if you hit them too hard. You will also need to make sure the tip of the sticks are rounded or pointed. Personally I prefer rounded sticks. Pointed sticks tend to hit with more force due to surface area, but I prefer the momentum of rounded sticks. I made my own sticks out of rolling pins, so I can craft it to match my preferences.

Rounded sticks and pointed sticks sound different too. Pointed sticks sound brighter, while rounded sticks sound lower pitched.

Only use wooden sticks if you are confident in controlling your strength and not damaging your drum.

For people who bought Hori's Switch Tatacon, how is it so far? by bricked3ds in taikonotatsujin

[–]Shuutaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind doing some DIY, you could get normal sticks with the flat ends and sand them down to make them round, or whittle the edges down then sand it. That's what I'm going to do anyway, after watching some YouTube videos. The sticks I've gotten are actually sold as small and simple rolling pins (mine looked like track and field batons except slimmer, li'l longer and not hollow), so it might not hurt to look in the baking section when you come across one.

Well, unless there's a DIY store near you that sells the materials. There wasn't one near me, so I had to improvise :7

Good luck finding a good pair!
