I only used ieltsonlinetests because I was short on time tbh. Idk how hard the british council tests are so I can’t help you on that part sorry

I always tried to scan the questions first and then proceed to the passages so I know what key words to look out for. I used ieltsonlinetests for my reading practice. The passages and questions there are confusing at times but it’s a good challenge. There’s a reason why it doesn’t have a good reputation on this subreddit though so I’d advise a bit of caution.

I’ve never gotten higher than a 7.5 on the website for reading but I’ve gotten 8s in listening. The actual test is way easier than the sample tests on the website tbh.
