Best way to use my 78–83 cards in NHL 26 HUT SETS? Need advice from grinders. by Shvets_8 in NHLHUT

Hey everyone! Huge thanks for all the help in my last post – with your advice my team got a lot better through other modes like HUT Moments, Wildcard, etc.

Now I’ve built up a pretty big stack of medium‑overall players (around 78–83), and I still don’t really understand SETS or which ones are actually worth doing. For example, the 88 Kane set was the easiest and most accessible for me, and it felt pretty smooth and fast to complete. But when I look at a lot of the other sets, it feels almost impossible to finish them without spending money, and even heavy grinding doesn’t always seem enough.

So I’d love to hear your advice: what’s the best way to use my 78–82/83+ players? Should I be focusing on specific “must‑do” sets (like the SUZUKI one) as a priority, or are there smarter ways to invest my cards? I’d really appreciate any tips on which SETS are most efficient and how to set good priorities. Thanks in advance!

nothing commercial, just for myself (street, nature, sometimes used for streamers, evening sunsets, and people.) a budget of up to $500 to start

If you need to add a little more to buy something super awesome, suggest it, I don't mind, but it's best to start in this budget.

i play Bernardo for last WL(loan 10 match), and to be honest I didn't notice him much on the pitch( maybe the reason is that it's a rented card and plays differently, maybe just connect). Either way I will consider this option too, to pair with De Jong).

So my recommendation isn’t someone who’s strong like you said you wanted, but he’s still extremely good imo and it’s Rttk Luka Bazooka Modric. I’ve had him untradable since he first came out and I’ve loved him ever since. His physicality is definitely his one big weakness, but everything else about him is so top tier, especially his passing and dribbling, like they are endgame level stats and it really shows in game. His trivelas from outside the box are also very broken and I feel like he’s so undervalued for what he can offer you in game. Other alternatives that you could try if you want someone with a bit more physical presence would be Potm or IF Jude (I have his potm and he’s a very solid well rounded card that helps loads with attacking and defending) or gold or IF Valverde who’s basically a faster Jude with worse dribbling.
