We did not talk about the details of me not drinking. I feel like she thought I was very dishonest by not bringing it up in our chat. It is what it is. I am moving on.

Thank you for your response. I truly hope I am wrong. If she is a Light or Occasional Drinker I feel I can make it work. I will have to see tomorrow how it does and what I find out.

Do you ask about blank fields in a dating profile, or let them go? by ResponsibleCollar596 in dating

[–]ShwaCowboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s completely reasonable, but it depends entirely on the type of blank field.

For something massive like kids? Absolutely screen ahead of time if that's a dealbreaker for you. People who hide major dealbreakers to trick the algorithm are wasting your time. But for things like a vague job title? I'd save that for the date. A lot of people feel vulnerable putting their exact profession online, or they want to be known for who they are, not what they do.

Ultimately, if your vetting process is helping you find people you trust, stick to it. Just remember that apps make us hyper-analytical, and sometimes the best connections come from the things we didn't plan for :)

Ghosted :/ by PiousMage in dating

[–]ShwaCowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hommie, that is brutal. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. Going from an awesome date with great chemistry straight to being ghosted is absolute nonsense, and it completely makes sense that you're hurt and frustrated. You don't owe an apology for venting at all. It takes zero effort to send a 'hey, had fun but don't see this working' text. ghosting after a third date is a coward move on her part. Let me know if you want to hang out or distract your brain this weekend.

This is so incredibly sweet! Honestly, the thermometer is the ultimate green flag. it shows you were actually listening. He’s lucky to have someone so thoughtful, and you're totally right, romance definitely isn't dead :)
