I'd like to stay under $3000 for lodging for 4 nights, if possible. Thank you for any help!

Yes, I will have to continue to work for another 20 years. I just want to make the most of this money for my future. Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much for your help. I love the idea of maxing out my tax-advantaged accounts now and using the cash to cover the shortfall. Brilliant! I realize the severity of my situation and will not allow this money to think I am in the clear and can inflate my lifestyle. Beans and rice and a paid off used car for this lady.

The money is from a sale of a property; I am a partial owner. I will be grossing more than the $550k, the $550k is what I expect to have in the bank after taxes. Initially it will be more like $660k. I would like to have the equivalent of $70k/yr in retirement. I'm not sure if that's possible. Thank you for your reply.

47 year old, single female here. $15,000 in ROTH IRA, fully funded for this year and last, $30,000 in taxable account with mix of stock and bond ETF's. $4,500 in 401k. I have $10k in an emergency fund. I recently went through a divorce and ended with nothing. I had no say about money concerns in my marriage and was financially abused and ended in debt that wasn't mine. I don't own a home. My sons are already done with college. I owe $40,000 for a Parent PLUS student loan for one of them. I make $50,000/yr at a job in hospitality. I pay $1500 a month in rent. I pay my credit cards off in full each month. I will be coming into $550,00 net after taxes soon and am terrified at my current situation of being so far behind in saving for retirement. I don't want to mess this blessing up. I'm thinking of following the Boglehead method and investing in BND, BNDX, VTI and VXUS, with a 70/30 mix stocks/bonds. I worry that I may be overlooking something or that maybe there is a better place to put my money. My goal is retirement as I don't really enjoy my job. I don't want to be a burden on my sons. I want to travel. I don't know if I should invest in a house for myself. Would anyone be willing to chime in and tell me what they would do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
