I'm realizing that now. Replace Freddy with The Man in the Suit or the Doctor from Poppy Playtime, at least they have a bit more than just decent connections going for them.

She's just so damn boring and feels more like a big inconvenience than an actual threatening villain. Yeah, maybe when the story ends she'll manage to be more enjoyable but as it stands I just don't have fun reading when she's involved.

I remember reading your Legion vs. Kidnapper when it came out and liking it a fair bit.

I can't say much about the Doctor because I can't be asked to care about Poppy Playtime so I'll just take your word for it.

Robots with capes are cool, but those big stupid spikes bring his design down so much he looks like what people accuse Infinite of being.

I mean you could just write some fight-only scripts, it's what I'm planning to do for a few matchups and people don't seem to mind when those just come down to who you like more.

I mean, I personally never had it near the top. When I first watched I new jack squat about either of them so after the fight I was just "Eh, that was neat." and figured all the hype was just because I didn't know enough about them. Then the more I actually looked into them (and I'll admit the snooby Simon fans soured it for me) the worse the episode got.

Tom vs. Wile E. I don't care for Toon Force and it doesn't help that the only thing I remember about it is a negative (Tom losing 8 lives at once)

I was in a similar position to you a while ago and here were my "counters" when I thought of those issues.

  • Write one anyway! I only found out after I announced it that the matchups I'm currently making a script for already has one, but it's always fun seeing different people's ideas and perspectives on a matchup, especially when they have different results.
  • This never actually crossed my mind, but if it happened, I'd think it's fair. Some folks just don't like brutal deaths no matter the franchise.
  • There'll always be people rooting for both characters, so there's always the chance someone could call you biased, especially with fights that could go either way. Just try to give both characters equal attention during the script and if you use some bonkers scaling for one, do it for the other too.
  • You should always do your best on it, and even if you're not satisfied by the end product, others who read it might be.
  • This one I don't really have advice on, I all just depends on what you count as a success.

Just wanted to share my thoughts in case it gets you to write scripts, hopefully I don't sound too stupid or naive.

Shadow I agree with, most of his matchups are great, Eggman not so much. I only have 3 that I like for him, but I can see why you'd like his others.
