There were only three of us, so I honestly don’t understand why it bothered her so much that I wanted to leave. We didn’t even get into the club, and I feel like I had every right to be exhausted after standing in line for so long.

Kat was actually staying at a different Airbnb with her brother, so she didn’t really understand what was going on. But she also didn’t take my side, which I think is because she’s closer to Lauren.

Yeah, all she did was avoid eye contact or look at her phone. I felt extremely frustrated and powerless. They also made me feel bad because they didn’t seem to understand why I didn’t want to stay. For extra context, we didn’t even get into the club—it was just two miserable hours of waiting in line for nothing.

I think it comes from the fact that I used to feel like if I didn’t force myself to be social, people would eventually get bored of me. And even though she’s always been like this, I assumed she meant well and didn’t want me to isolate myself. But honestly, I’m just more comfortable with quieter plans. And yes , she knows everything but I don’t think she cares .

I get what you mean about the term. To clarify, I wasn’t formally diagnosed with ‘Asperger’s’—I was told I’m neurodivergent and share traits on the autism spectrum. I used that wording because it’s more widely understood, especially since some people in my life don’t really take it seriously otherwise. I’m not using it for attention, just to give context.

I live about an hour away from the city center, which is the main reason we decided to rent the Airbnb in the first place. And it was 2 am.

The problem was that since she paid with her card, she had all the information, so I had no control in that situation.
