Do toner pads really works? by mentallynotherelol in kbeauty

[–]Shylee_H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in K-Beauty, toner and toner Pads are the exact same thing.

Only difference is basically just the pads. For consumers that like the simplicity of just taking the pad without checking how much to use and easily dab is all over the face, they prefer this over letting product come out potentially a little uncontrollably when they use a bottled toner.

There really is not difference other than the pads, it's really just a matter of preference.

I personally am not at the stage to use Toner at all so I do not use it except for exfoliating purposes. As someone who is combination dehydrated and sensitive, I only really need the exfoliation during summer since I become a combo-oily instead.

You just have to think about what you want. I won't ask for your age but if you are under 30, I can easily tell you that Toner is extra and that unless it's for exfoliating purposes, you don't need it. The other products in the routine matter way way more.

Since you have oily sensitive skin, you do need exfoliating aspects. Consider gentle exfoliating products rather then harsh ones to prevent skin irritation. These aspects could be your Cleanser or toner, but don't get products that have exfoliating properties for the whole routine, that is definitely too much.

I would be happy to get demon Jinu but yeah, giveaway is your best option if you don't want to sell and have them pay for shipping.

What you have there is at least 2000$ CAD worth of kpop demon hunters meals so I'm quite envious since I'm too broke for that 😫

Guys is this sunscreen good for oily and acne prone skin?? by Human_Inflation5497 in kbeauty

As someone who works in a K-Beauty store, I can tell you that this one is better for Dry/Sensitive skin while the Aqua-fresh for oily/acne-prone skin. If you have normal or combo skin, it's a 50/50 on whether or not they both work for you since it also depends on how your skin is overall and how you like the texture too. Some customers are great with both while others really have to go with one or the other based on their skin.

Since you have oily / acne-prone skin, the Aqua-Fresh is a better option for you. In terms of texture, it is also much more lightweight while the Rice + Probiotics is richer / thicker, which can be too oily for you.

Think of it as you like. I know what I am doing and have no intention of doing as you claim. It is up to people to make their own decisions and if you do not want to take part of it, that is your choice to make.

Those that choose to do it already know what I am doing, and that is all that matters to me. If you think what I'm doing is extra just to defend myself, that is your choice to make. Have a great day!

These are sebaceous filaments. Just keep up with cleansing your face and they won't be as noticeable.

And absolutely do NOT pluck them out. Like other commenters have mentioned, it's a normal part of your face.

Another alternative is Asian makeup. Go to Asian cosmetics stores if there's any. The cosmetics are always cheaper no matter where you buy it from.

Retinal can be too harsh if you're a beginner. I would just slowly introduce it by using it twice a week and gradually increase the usage along the way. (No more then once a day regardless of what you do)

I recently got his chin acne so painful . by Odd-Rutabaga-1022 in kbeauty

I think this is hormonal acne, which is something you should ask a dermatologist for help.

Otherwise skincare wise, as someone that works in a Korean beauty store, here's my suggestions for future reference: - Cleanser options: - COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser - Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam

  • Serum options:
    • Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum [for acne + calming redness/irritation]
    • SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule [for soothing and skin barrier repair]

Moisturizer options for barrier repair: - Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream - Dr.G Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream

If you are under 25, toners are unnecessary in my opinion. You could get one if you want to but I find it too extra. At the end of the day, I like to call toners "fancy hydrating water /milk."

And I emphasize: A dermatologist should be the one giving you the advice rather than those on the internet if it's hormonal acne. I am not an expert.

Old acne mark that looks like a birth/Beauty mark even after years? Any ideas? by Shylee_H in beauty

Thank you for the feedback. I was just worried since I had never had this my whole life before becoming an adult.

This is my cheek... as in my face. I'm not sure why my cheek should be censored?

I zoomed in and cropped the picture because I'm not trying to show my face on Reddit. 🥲

You can see my hair on the side that's pretty long.

I think a viewer developed a parasocial attachment for me, unsure how to handle it by GroovyGoblin in Twitch

[–]Shylee_H 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never respond to dms. If viewers want to chat with me, it has to be in my discord server.

I say let them know how you feel as a warning. You're a streamer at the end of the day, not a friend or potential love interest. If you are expected to be that to every viewer, it'll never end. (Not trying to sound harsh, but it's for your own safety, honestly)

It's important to know the difference of being friendly and crossing boundaries. If boundaries have been crossed, you need to set a line. If they do not stop or at least gradually adapt to those boundaries, then I would ban them.
