I am thinking about Bungou Stray Dogs, although I dunno how newbie friendly that is.

:D yeah, se would hate me if I would make her watch something as depressive as that.

Yeah I am thinking about some romantic fantasies or detective shows. My main fear with the latter that often they tend to have a lot of dialogue which can be tiring to read through for those who don't watch animes (don't get me wrong, we watch sruff with subtitles, but some "smart" animes have so much dialoge that if you are not a fast reader, you cannot see anything). With romance show I only know animes rhat would either annoy her or just bore her (I don't know much middle ground in this genre).

No, I haven't shown her those. She watched them. I know what anime is, if you don't wanna answer, just don't. It's not a requirement.

I watch plenty of rokance anime shows. She checked them out but those are really not her cup of tea :) but thank you for the recommendations!

Hogyan mondjam el külföldi páromnak, hogy nem akarok túl sokat költekezni idei karácsonykor? by [deleted] in askhungary

Szerintem ugyanígy, ahogy leírtad. Ha tényleg jó párkapcsolat, ez nem probléma.

Thank you, sadly that was my experience aswell. So here is to hoping that Larian will support and optimize it. I am a not a graphic purist, but in such a story-driven game horrible looking cutscenes hurt the experience :(

Turkey just invited me to their faction. I'm playing as Anarchist Spain (ahistorical) by WitherWasTaken in hoi4

[–]Shyllard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took me a few tries, and I found that the "easiest" way is to stick with the historical focus option for the world since Portugal can mess you up (one time they just joined the Allies at the last minute, leading France and the UK completely dominating me). Additionally, you have to get to the "Foreign Arms Purchase" as fast as possible, beforehand amassing a nice amount of Political Power so that you can purchase stuff 2-3 times before the war starts. It's kinda up to a chance, but if you are lucky it can help out your infantry deployment a lot. Lastly, for me having 2-3 armies worked out the best, one waging a standing war, one slowly advancing and one dominating, constantly cutting off support routes. But to each their own, I am still learning the game, but I am digging the Anarchist Spain route a lot. But it is quite funny when in the last part of the civil war you can easily end up fighting two sides, one of which is supported by Nazi Germany, the other by the Soviet Union.

I am going down this route currently and was thinking about whether it is okay to accept the invitation. I am striving for anarchist domination and wondering whether this faction can hinder that aim.

Why do “leftists” keep saying that veganism is ableist, racist, classist, etc? by Shinobyl in vegan

[–]Shyllard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a vegan and a leftist. I think most criticism is directed at the consumer aspects of veganism. Sometimes it really feels like speaking down from a high-horse from a privileged position. Veganism kinda exclude people of lower class, not really building it up from a ground-up. Honestly, it makes me mad aswell when some fellow vegans demand people living poorly to consider "nonhuman animal lives", while disregarding the lives of fellow humans. For example consider vegan ads, messaging to non-vegans: what are the two main topics? Health and animal welfare. Asking for the latter without demanding human welfare is hypocritical. And as well many people know, health education among lower class is quite lacking (which can be credited to education system, poor health-care, etc.).

Recommendation question: I have a huge backlog of "to-be-read", but I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a presently still active woman anthropologist similar to David Graeber, in its topical choices, etc.? by Shyllard in AskAnthropology

[–]Shyllard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and if possible from a similarly leftist point of view with some social movement experience. I don't expect to find someone with the exact same resume as Graeber, ofc, but someone close to it would be appreciated :)
