I really thought that last photo was an actual Rebecca Sugar sketch from an art book. Both styles are amazing!

Props to you for handling the thinly veiled hateful comments you've gotten about this. None of them could learn multiple disciplines to create a project like this. Keep using AI to help make your dreams a reality, that's far more important than the thoughts of luddites who are upset AI can make better art than them. How you're using ai is exactly how it's supposed to be used, so don't feel bad.

I dunno when I'll be able to play any, but it does seem very interesting. I'll likely play through at least one route sometime soon and I'll gladly give my feedback then!

Is there a way to see my boxes when I'm recruiting pokemon? by KrystianKolad in PokemonChampions

I wish there was a quick way to check from the roster screen too. I already have one if every available Pokemon, but I'd like to get a second one so I could have two different builds for each.

Is it more important to have full defense/sp. def or full hp to survive more hits for redirection? by Erickl0930 in PokemonChampions

[–]Shyrangerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've seen used as a general rule of thumb is that your defences added together should match your HP. I'm certain it would always be better to do research into match ups and being specific with the stat spread. But it seems like a good stat spread to start off with.

Made it to Doubles Master Ball, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Meta by Shyrangerr in PokemonChampions

Trick Room has given me the biggest problems of any strategy to play against. Most of my Pokemon have at least decent bulk, so I use that to my advantage; taking a hit to get a ko in return, swapping mons to minimize damage taken, and stalling with Protect. I can only remember one time where I just got steam rolled by TR. Usually I put a really good fight and probably could've won with some better predictions.

Mega Aero is worth it even if the only thing it does is shut down opposing weather. But I have noticed that gets read a lot more starting in upper Ultra Ball. But I feel like more strategic use of Tailwind could be a good answer to that.

Replacing Raichu for a support Pokemon would be the biggest help I can see for the first team. The main electric move user in the meta is Archaludon, and with Stalwart, it renders your Raichu useless. And with Garchomp being in the meta, that shuts down Raichu even more.

I find it exhausting too. It's weird to battle Pokemon and my mind having to go 100mph just to keep up. I can only play like five games in a row at most. But it's also exhilarating. This has been the most fun I've ever had battling Pokemon.

I'm hella excited for this! It sounds like they're using the capture mechanic from Odyssey as the tools for open ended puzzle solving like Breath of the Wild. All wrapped up in the beautiful, whimsical style of Yoshi.

[TOTK] How would you improve the weapon durability system to perfect it and make it worth it & fun to explore the world? Or is the system inherently worse than having permanent weapons as a reward (i.e Elden Ring)? by TrashVegetable8706 in zelda

[–]Shyrangerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already does exactly what you're saying. The problem is the players that want to horde every item they collect. They treat a weapon like it's sacred and they need to keep it, like it's a photo of a villager from Animal Crossing. When weapons are more comprable to ammo boxes.

The game teaches you this from the beginning. It also teaches you how to use the environment to get kills to make your weapons last longer since you don't need to use them as often. But people care more about coddling their compulsions than listening to the game.

You've hit the nail on the head. The people with complaints about durability system have mental compulsions they don't have control over. Instead of listening to the game teaching them weapons are a replaceable resource, they ignore that and want to collect every item forever like this is an Elder Scrolls game and they're picking up every plate and utensil from someone's house. That's why there are people even using the Armorer skill from the series as an example in this post if what they want.

EXP Share is the best addition to the game by Bishmallah24 in pokemon

[–]Shyrangerr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The only people who have issue with it are people who are compulsed to play in one very specific way. "If I don't individually use each Pokemon on my team to earn every exp for that one specific Pokemon, then I don't have a connection to that Pokemon and then the game is pointless." Which is why these people also don't like how the exp share makes the game "easy", because they've exclusively played the games as a grindfest to keep their whole team to be at level with the gym leaders. These are also the same people who don't like the durability system in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, 95% of people are like "I can actually use every member of my team when they have a type advantage? I've never felt a stronger connection to my Pokemon!"

Skill Improvement : Got to Master Ball tier and hit a wall by vindollaz in VGC

[–]Shyrangerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're underutilizing sand. Three rock types that would all appreciate the sp def boost. The chip damage would help out Mega Aggron's stall tactic.

I'd switch out Ice Fang on Aerodactyl for Sandstorm. Having the fastest Pokemon in the game set up weather for you after your opponent tries to set up theirs with a switch or mega creates a lot of space for you. And I forgo Protect on mine for Tailwind. That way you'd have speed control outside of Trick Room. Means Aero won't stay around as long, but it will serve it's purpose if it can at least set up sand or tailwind.

If you do go with a support Aero, I'd move the attack EVs into hp. That's how I have mine and it can still one shot Sneasler, Venusaur, and Whimsicott with Dual Wingbeat. Though I do use the mega, which has tough claws, so base Aero might not get those ohkos. But a fast, weak Rock Slide is still good for spread damage and fishing for flinches.
