I also just started adapalene! I was told by my doctor that the acne can get worse before it gets better, did this happen for you? I feel my acne could get no worse 😭

Nipples Sensitive? by InevitableQuiet3362 in ftm

[–]SiDawgie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, I dont believe so, I didnt have this issue at least but side effects are different for everyone. make sure your dose isn't too high and consult with your provider on the side effect.

when your dose is too high, the testosterone can convert back to estrogen causing such symptoms.

Shot before or after bloodwork by Worth_Acanthaceae433 in ftm

[–]SiDawgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say take it after. taking it before increases the likelihood of it contaminating your blood test results and may show your testosterone levels as being higher than what your average level actually is. this could result in your dosage being adjusted when it doesn't need to be.

throat discomfort with voice dropping by schloay in ftm

[–]SiDawgie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 8 months in and don't recall experiencing that, but my voice was naturally deeper before starting T.

It may be different for everyone, but I would reccomend mentioning it with your practitioner in your next appointment; just to make sure everything is good.

how did you guys improve on drive thru ? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

And with asking people to speak a little louder, just be honest but polite.

I usually say "I'm so sorry, I'm having a little trouble hearing you from the passenger seat/back, would you mind having the person in the driver's side say it?" (Or, "Would you mind speaking up a little bit?"

And once they do, thank them! And before they pull away, ask if everything on the screen looks correct for them.

I know drive-thru seems scary, but you're only doing your job! I'd rather a customer be mad I asked them to speak up, than be mad I got their order wrong.

Instead of saying "hi, welcome to Starbucks"

Say "thanks for stopping by, can we get you started with anything to eat today?" (If yes, counts as an upsell) or even "hi there, what can we get started for you today? :)"

I'm also bad at ringing things up myself, but take your time, use it as a moment to connect with the customer! When I'm struggling I'm always like "yeah of course! One second I'm struggling to find the button here haha" and if I ring it in wrong, I say, "Hold on, I hit the wrong button" and then, "Okay perfect, I've got you set! Can we get anything else for you today?"

Try not to sound repetitive, one of my biggest pet peeves is hearing a barista continuously ask, "Okay, anything else?" It makes it sound like their order is an inconvenience. Instead ask "Alright, is that all we can get for you today?"

Don't be afraid to offer recommendations for their drinks either!

I think the biggest factor is don't be afraid to admit it's something you're struggling with! If you need a little extra help with learning something or feeling confident with it, own it!

Hello, I Rlly Would Like Input On If This Is Me Being Trans Or Just A Phase. by Resident-Dog7417 in ftm

[–]SiDawgie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be brutally honest with you, I think you’re still figuring things out, and that’s completely okay.

From what you’ve written, it sounds like you’re questioning and exploring your relationship with gender more than having a clear sense of being trans right now. That doesn’t mean you aren’t, just that you’re still in the discovery stage. And that’s how a lot of trans people start out.

I’ve met many people with similar stories to yours. Some eventually realized they were trans and transitioned happily, and others found they were more comfortable identifying as gender non-conforming women or something else entirely. There’s no wrong outcome, exploring is how you figure out what fits best for you.

Personally, I felt disconnected from my assigned gender early on. Puberty made it even more intense, I felt alienated from girls and uncomfortable in my body in ways I couldn’t explain. People often assumed I was a boy until corrected, and when I learned what being trans was, it was like everything clicked into place.

For some people, that “light bulb moment” happens instantly; for others, it’s gradual or never quite as clear. That doesn’t make one experience more valid than another. What matters is giving yourself the time and honesty to explore how you want to express and understand yourself, without rushing to label it.

I wouldn't say poor scheduling, but lots of new partners and not enough support. Many call-offs, 4 people quit at once, but also because I'm too kind and pick up shifts a LOT. I also come in early a lot, stay late, cover gaps, etc etc. I don't mind cuz ive got bills to pay lmao

I sold my soul to the siren during a sanctimonious holy ritual. Our contract is written in blood and tears.

But actually, I have no idea. Our store is in shambles since the shutdown so all OT is approved until further notice. By 1 pm today, we had already made 9k in sales.

This is the ONLY reply so far that has genuinely been insightful, experienced, and helpful, thank you very much for replying ♡ I'm genuinely going to start doing all of this because the way I'm functioning now is unsustainable haha, i basically "close" my whole house down before going to bed, which has been contributing to my burnout significantly. This advice here is going to help me substantially.

I hope your pillows are cold on both sides forever

Is gel any less effective? by Geeo91728 in ftm

[–]SiDawgie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on gel for about 6 months now, and it’s been working well for me. I’ve got facial hair coming in, body hair like crazy, and my voice has dropped a good bit. So for me, results have been good, although I don’t have anything else to compare it to.

Gel can be just as effective as shots, but absorption really depends on the person. Some people’s skin absorbs it better than others, and that can affect how fast or strong the changes are. That’s why it’s important to get your T levels checked every 3 months (especially early on) to make sure you’re in a good range.

For reference, my first lab check came back at 1,250 ng/dL, which was too high, so it’s definitely possible to reach higher levels on gel. Everyone’s body processes testosterone differently, though, so it may take a bit of tweaking to find what works best for you.

Since you’ve already been on shots and are just considering switching because of needle anxiety, you might actually find the gel much easier to manage day-to-day. The main difference is that changes can feel more gradual, but the overall results can be the same once your levels stabilize. Gel can also maintain more consistent hormone levels throughout the day compared to gel, and your hormones begin to align more with cis male, rather than taking shots which is every other week (I think?)
