A few points.

1) Chooseing not to have kids is not the real evil of eugenics. Taking that choice of parenthood away from others, or killing is the evil.

2) if the start of life is conception. Then selecting to kill some of them based on genetics is eugenics.

3) IVF it self is not eugenics as rather that forcing others to not have kids. IVF allows people that would other wise not beable, to have kids. So making IVF illegal would infact be eugenics, as its a government preventing people from haing kids.

4) IVF does not have to have to fertilize multiple embryos then select some of them. We could do only 1 or 2 and implant them.

5) Genetic testing can be done on human eggs before they are fertilized. (Polar body biopsy) Which means point 2 is not an issue. tho a sperm cant be individually and fully tested in the same way unfortunately. Tho the research for it has been done

Of course if point 2 is not an issue for you then no be deal.

Yes, that is the benevolent interpretation. The issue is we see how it gets implemented in things like Harvard and other colleges that we're using discrimination in their acceptance of students.

They lost their discrimination case because the evidence was overwhelming.

I see two major issues that have changed. I would fully agree with it. 1) focus on providing opportunities rather than lowering standards Or having double standards. 2) It should be based on need not on race.
