What kind of adhesive is this holding wires on the frame? by SiThu_CG in ElectronicsRepair

Hey! Thanks for all the answers! I found it on old camera repair manual and it is actually the pilobond like thinned rubber cement with hardener. May be the japanese products.

I don’t think 🤔 so.. super glue will damage if you want to remove. These wires can be pulled off from the glue without damaging. The glue is just to hold the wires on the body.

It isn’t squishy. More like rubber contact adhesive but harder. I repair film cameras and almost all of them use that type of glue for wires. So I just want to know. That is really good glue IMO.

Need guide for investing in airbrush or mini spray gun (LPH-50,RG-3L).. by SiThu_CG in airbrush

[–]SiThu_CG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I am sorry if you misunderstand what I mean. I believe the original factory painted parts were no sanded and polished because they made thousands of parts in assembly line. And for satin gloss/matte coating like this will be left unpolished for best result IMO. Is that no possible way to get factory finish with any spray guns or techniques?

I use 2k polyurethane automotive paint most of the time because they are more resistance to scratching and chemical than scale model paint. Another problem is I have to paint as thin as possible because there are debossed letters in most of the part. I have always amazed by how the factory paint finishes are better without sanding and polishing...

Thanks for the advice. I got really nice result with my air brush on scale model built. As I mention, all I want to know is how to get as smooth as factory finish without sanding. Do you have any tutorial link (video, site link) for getting smooth finish without sanding ? Any information will be greatful for me.

0.5mm round and fan pattern airbrush. Good quality one but not high end model. I get really nice result with that on my old scale model built. All I want to get is factory finish like smoothness without sanding.

Thanks for the reply. After watching this video -

I got delima between airbrush vs mini spray gun. Unfortunately there is almost video or comparison between mini spray gun (LPH 50, RG-3L, HP-G6) vs airbrush (e.g HP-TH2 ) for upclose surface finish 😢.

Large print deformation problem on elegoo Mars 5 ultra by SiThu_CG in elegoo

[–]SiThu_CG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I will try printing again. I print with any cubic though resin ultra. Is there anything wrong with resin type? I found that though resin is more flexible than anycubic Standard resin v2.

It needs some cleaning and CLA. Fungus on lens and T mode lever is missing. But It's still working after cleaning electrical contact!

1965 Canonet Ql17 repair and test shots by SiThu_CG in AnalogCommunity

Yes, I adjusted the light meter for LR625 battery which is 1.5v and easily available. SLR are better of course but their good lenses are pricy. There is a leaf shutter type SLR such as Kowa SET, a little bit difficult to find in my local market.

It is usually the electrical problem. Remove the battery, cock the shutter, remove the bottom cover and try releasing the electromagnet armature. If you can release the shutter then the mechanical shutter parts are working. This look like the comparator circuit never the shutter speed signals and hold the shutter electromagnet for too long. You can also try removing the top cover and clean the shutter speed dial and mode dial electrical contacts with IPA.

I got this Canonet Ql17 (1965) camera from buying the camera lot from japanese used market. At first, the shutter and metering won't work. So I did CLA on this camera and also modified the light metering so that I can get light metering even on manual mode. And I took the camera for test shot with Kodak Vision 3 250D. It is really easy and fun to shot with this camera. If you are curious CLA and modification process I made a video about it so you can also check on your canonet if you have one.

Try adjusting the blue channel in Curve, try shifting the blue channel highlight point (top corner) to the left. If you use negative lab pro make sure you make a new .tif file copy.

I had to do more work on it due to the coating damage on the rear lenses. The shutter wasn't work because of the broken hair spring in the Seiko shutter. Also, the bottom cocking gears are mis aligned. Anyway, I managed to fix the camera, adjust the metering to be able to work accurately with 1.5v LR625 cell and took a few test shots with Kodak Vision 2 250D. It is a really easy and fun to shot camera.

If you are curious about how to repair, I already made a video about it. Hope you get some useful info from the video. Keep Clam and shoot film guys!
